Little defensive there little fella? I know plenty of people that have driven them, & read enough about them to know it doesn't really interest me. Yeah, most cars have driver aids, but not on the level the Nissan does.
So you "know" someone that's driven one and have "read" a lot about it ...mmmm you must be an expert then. Not defensive , just bugs me that people like you read a review or watch top gear then spout off about a subject you have no idea about. Its not the car that flatters the driver but the driver that flatters the car , to what degree depends on the driver..imo ... without the driver its a stationary piece of metal. I thought you would have had a better understanding of this via your hundreds of cars you've driven
thanks for the banter anyway.

good lord there are some nobs on here today. Out of interest has anyone on here been faster round the ring then that bloke?
Anyone?
Not in a million years here. Couldn't beat that no matter what car. Its always impressive what a professional driver can do compared to the avareg person like me.Anyone?
Really don't understand the waves of negativity on PH whenever the GTR comes up. The various comments, mostly it seems from people that haven't even driven the damn thing, about it removing you from the action are just totally wrong. That's the brilliance of it, for me, that a car that has so much technology can still keep the driver in the loop so well.
As for aesthetics, that's in the eye of the beholder. To my eyes the GTR is a great piece of industrial design - the Japanese making an unashamedly Japanese car instead of trying to copy Europeans. Bravo them.
I just wish they'd give up on the 'ring obsession. Who cares?

I have to say that this is the first in-car video from the Ring where I have really 'felt' the car pick up speed as quickly as this GTR does - I have watched a dozen or so films like this and am always a little un-moved by them, this one's the closest I've come to saying 'bloody hell that's quick!'

There is negativity about EVERY car on PH, 99% of the time from people who have never driven the car in question. A lot of the time about cars not even in production!! If you're unmoved by Nurburgring films, it must be time to watch Faszination (again):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAnMFhFMWAY
The original and still the best.

That's true, the GTR is robotic, the Focus RS should have been four wheel drive, the latest BMW/Mercedes/Audi is too heavy/luxurious/German.....seefarr said:

Have to say my bit! I Have driven one and driven a new shape evo x with paddleshift and i do get what people are saying on here, driving has always been an art but there are different types of drivers, those that like presicion and perfect lines with the car balanced nicely on but not over the limit.
Others like me like a car that gives you a challenge, it doesnt help you, it will bite if you get it wrong and you have to DRIVE it to get the best out of it, for me that so much more rewarding than having a car do all the work!
All these modern flappy paddle this, yaw control that, DSTC other does not interst me in the slightest but does not mean they are a bad car, it means they are too good, just not for me.
plenty power, rear wheel drive, manual box, no abs or traction control, good front end and wet conditions thats my idea of fun!!
I guess its a case of if you can handle a car like that and can tame it, then its more satisfying but not everyones the same and some people will get more out of a car like the GTR. I was brought up on RS2000`s and mantas and Chevette HSR`s etc so like them Raw with no driver aids!
The GTR like a veyron is indeed a wonder of modern technology and truly amazing and faster point to point but id rather drive a car sideways round a wet rounabout at 30mph than do 250 mph!
The Driver on the Vid would indeed be off the road in the likes of a GT3 RS but i just think hes using doing it to induce better turn in to quell the understeer!
