The thing that will spoil this car is the same as what spoils the RRS - the image hungry people who use a car as a fashion item, instead of loving the car for what it is.
Strange, as I'd buy a car for me, or for my needs. I'd not be concerned with who else owns one or what some others might think of them.TUS 373 said:

I don't think that's what spoils the RRS, that's what it was conceived as - a fashion accessory. What does it offer over a Disco or proper RR? st all, but image.Just had a look on the configurator over lunch, it's actually not too bad value given the amount of kit you get as standard, e.g. leather seats, DAB radio, bluetooth. I thought it would come with nothing as standard but its not too bad, it certainly seems better than X1, X3, Q5 etc.
I'll stick to my search for a Range Rover Classic in the meantime however.

Please ask yourself: "If this had a Nissan badge on the front and wasn't made in Britain, would I care"? I think the answer would be a very solid NO.

you could say that for a lot of cars however, Its britsh and has a Range Rover badge on the front, so yes many of us do care. and plus i think it looks great.

It is a great shame that you cannot have an Evoque, RRS, RR or Jaguar without leather trim. Personally I do not want to have leather seats. MB and BMW offer non-leather interiors on all their models. Seems like JLR will miss sales in the Middle East, India and those who prefer not to be sitting on animal skins. BTW leather is not a by-product of meat. At best it is a co-product. At worst, if farmed in India, it is the main product from the animals where the welfare is terrible. All this just so we can lord around in leather seats. So my next company car will not be from JLR dsepite having excellent cars that are designed and built in the UK. I have contacted JLR and they cannot match what MB and BMW do and seem not to have a special products division any more. Not that long ago one could buy an XJ with a cloth interior.

Admirable stance.I'm far more selfish and don't like it for practical reasons. It's overated - baking hot in Summer, freezing cold in Winter, slippery all the time, wears marks etc etc - why it's perceived and sold as the premium seat covering is beyond me. Same goes for leather home furniture.

The only advantage I see is that, to some folks, leather trim gives a pleasing aroma.
Ha ha, thirsty little number manatees or bunnies aside If you compare fuel economy it actually stacks up will against it's competitors.
