Top marks, excellent shed. In the right time and the right place, doubt I'd be able to stop myself...

These are the biggest heap of fking st around, everyone who owns one think they are great, they are are just some old bds car with a poorly developed engine. For 1k it better have a full tank of petrol.

Obviously never been in one, let alone piloted one!

9 pages? NINE pages!? And I'm betting only a couple of those are worth reading. Whatever.

It's a SHED - it's extremely cheap for what it is - this isn't "careful buyer's corner", SOTW is about finding a SHED, a smoker, something which you drive until it drops which is different and noteworthy...

For all it's state this ticks all the boxes - all you really need to do is check that it really is the car on it's paperwork and that the engine isn't made of cake...

I'm well acquainted with bangernomics, my 208k miles E-class bought for £400 notes is testament to this wink
I'd walk away and find a better shed.

Do you ride the bus or your push bike to uni?

You're probably safer in your fantasy garage polishing your imaginary Enzo than on here making comments like that.

This is possibly the best SOTW ever I would buy it for the motor alone, shame its not a manual but they dont exist at that price.

Dear Shedders.
I sold these cars in a previous life and had the good fortune to be driven around Eastern Creek raceway (Sydney) by V8 Touring car legends Dick Johnstone and Alan Grice-bOTH Bathurst winners.
They made the car sing. Grice bough one for himself he was so impressed.

I compared it with sitting in a gentlemans club lounge powered by the space shuttle.

They Rock. Heritage, Comfort, Performance.

The clown above who states thay "they are crap", but that "everyone who owns them loves them" has made on of the most imbecillic and oxymoronic statements I have heard in my short life. If my friend all owners love them how can they be crap (in your opinion)

PS, These cars strangely enough do not work well with a manual box.
A friend had one specially ordered. Did not work well with Charged engine.

If you are seriously interested in buying a car but have concerns about its short remaining MOT, the best thing to do is ask the owner if you can take it away for an MOT test. (You can often find a garage doing tests for about £30).

Walk away if he says 'No'. If he doesn't mind, take it for the test and based on the result, return the car to owner either with a cash offer or say, 'No thanks, there's too much wrong with it'.

The car may be SOTW but this bloke /\ is moron of the month.

There are 100 & 1 reasons not to buy the car, so much could go wrong on so many expensive levels but I still would if i was in the market for a car.

All I'm saying is. You are making assumptions based on hot air. Maybe it is junk, but maybe it isn't. Maybe the current owner thinks a bit like you. Whereas it might be possible to buy it. Do £150-200 worth of home repairs and get 12 months ticket on it. Even if it's a little rough round the edges, it's still a good looking, cool, powerful, comfy cruiser. That'll probably still be worth £700-1100 this time next year.

But of course you'd need to go look at it and make that decision based on it's condition and how it drives.
Shedding in a nutshell.

It's quite possible a "perfect" 5K car will generate a 2K bill. The difference here is that if it does fail you've probably lost £500. Besides the XJ40's onwards lost some of the complexity of the old S3s. For example you no longer have to remove the half-shafts to change the rear discs.

If I was in the market for a shed for around a grand, this wouldn't be on my list. At all. Ever.

You may as well lube up before taking it to the garage for an mot. But then I've never trusted jag's. However, the F-Type is pure sex (although I got bored of waiting a long, long time ago).
