True, although the details on there do certaintly point to a premium that should be higher than £1060.
High-ish mileage, conviction, age etc.

I do apologise I wasn't suggesting that!, the details would suggest a higher premium but if your occupation or postcode are low risk to the insurer then the premium you have would be attainable, I note you have a second car is that with admiral too if so I'd guess it's on a multicar?.

I know you wasnt, but someone out there will assume its down to mummy and daddy

Yes, my Saxo VTR is on Multicar with them, thats £600, the reason the M3 is cheap is because my excess is £2500

At 22 I had a diesel MK2 Golf. Could only dream of a 50k car. At 23 however I did get my Civic Type R smile I think the insurance companies are currently making it all up for their own benefit. Direct Line wanted over 1K for me to insure an A6 1.9tdi, ok I have 6 points TS10 & SP30 but I also have 7 years no claims and am 30! Luckily I got it for much less and told them to stuff their renewal, although they where genuinely shocked I didn't want to take it and tried to persuade me it was a good deal!

In a way that excess isn't that much. £2500 = 5.5% of car value when bought.
My excess is £550. Which is just over 9% of the £6k value of my car when bought.

Still wouldn't like to front that kinda cash after an accident though.

You would be surprised of how many people in the early twenties have very nice cars
As long as you do your sum’s and lots of research it is amazing what you can afford.

Plus having a good job and working hard, helps too.

I’m in the same boat being a whippier snapper at 23 too

It's probably circumstances too. Dan I don't mean that in a nasty or bhy way either smile

For instance, I've got a mate. Did crap at school then worked as an apprentice mechanic. But they got a lucky break and went and worked for a family member. Huge income for most poeple, his partner earns a good wage too. So combined income is massive. Plus I suspect they might have had help with a house deposit. No debts either.

If you start on a level playing field and have a nice amount coming in each month it makes a real difference.
