Er I dont wish to be morbid or anything but how does one die on the way to hospital if one has first been decapitated?
I don´t know facts about this accident but racers (almost) never die on a racetrack in a race,
they always die "on the way to hospital", so to speak.
Otherwise, the track would be an "accident scene" or even a (suspected) "crime scene"
with instant investigations by state attorneys, forensic staff etc etc,
the race would have to be stopped, drivers and officials interrogated, media material confiscated etc etc.

Just come across this thread while doing a search for a Lynx low drag for a friend. Benni, you actually predicted Allan Simonsen's death at Tertre Rouge in the Aston. He died of a broken neck, but only after he was taken back to the medical centre. Also, in this case, the accident took place on a public road (yes, even when the race is on) so as you say technically the road would be closed for further investigation.

As regards the Lindner/Nocker, the roof panel was with Lynx for many years, even into this century, and was acquired by Peter Neumark to help complete the restoration. A run of replicas was originally considered by CMC but as far as I know but one was built, so far at least. With engines from Crossthwaite and Gardner now around £60,000, I'm not surprised either!
