Just followed the above car through the New Forest - painted the same colour as my TVRs in Imperial blue. Sounded awesome with a seriously loud exhaust. If the owner is local and wants to send me a PM I'll add him to my invitation only 'hoon' list smile I haven't used my Vantage S roadster for a while but intend to stretch its legs before Christmas...

That's the Aston Martin press car, currently in the hands of PistonHeads. smile

Here it is at the earlier Sunday Service at Mercedes Benz World.

That's the one. Not sure who was at the wheel, looked like a youngish chap with blonde hair (I was in the blue Audi Allroad if he reads this!) He took an unusual route across the forest, but bizarrely took exactly the route I needed to get home. Shame I wasn't in my Aston too... also a shame its not a local car and driver as it would make a very nice addition to one of my hoons!

I wouldn't be surprised if the car in the Lord Mayors Show had the plate stuck on it just for publicity purposes - doubt very much if any plod would have checked it out or looked at the tax disc.

ETA - the plot thickens. 1 AML is currently registered to a WHITE Aston Martin, so is the blue one on "false" plates ??????

They are two different cars, according to a previous contributor.

Your profile invites us to look at your website, but I could not make the link work.

Am intrigued by your username. Do you perhaps have an office in Luxembourg, that issues your on-line sales invoices? All perfectly legal of course, although politicians might start name calling, completely forgetting that they set the tax laws in the first place.

There can be, so long as the look-a-like car is not taken onto a road maintained at public expense.

On this subject I was puzzled though, when watching a video of a look-a-like DB5 reg. BMT 216A, apparently being driven on a public road.
The original car is not on the DVLA database. The story is that it was stolen in USA and never seen again.

'They are two different cars, according to a previous contributor.'

Ah yes, missed that - albeit with the shared number plates and easy mistake to make!

'Your profile invites us to look at your website, but I could not make the link work.'

Thanks for pointing that out, I had no idea it had disappeared! It is just a website for my private rally team...

'Am intrigued by your username.'

Notax? Well, I am an IFA and help clients legitimately reduce their tax bills through financial planning. I originally chose the user name as my first Chimaera had a N TAX number plate and it seemed quite apt.

I also have two cars with the same number plate - an Audi Allroad with
N800 TAX which is also used on one of my non road registered rally cars. Looks good when I'm towing one with the other smile

99% sure it is. It was on a Vanquish Volante at Duxford on Sunday for the AMOC Concours event.

It seems Aston Martin own a number of the lower "AML" plates and just chop and change them around the cars depending on model launches. Unfortunately they also beat everyone to owning GT08 AML...
