Bought for 25k salvage……(gt3rs register).. Not a bad time to cash in…wonder what it cost to repair ?
As a bodyshop we have carried out a number of repairs on GT3's because it's a cat C/D it doesn't make it a bad car it's more to do with the quality of the work when we do a job like those photo'd we document the work by photo & use our digital jig to show that it's to manufactures specification this helps the price but doesn't make it back to an original car. as a side bar how many race cars get crashed repaired & then are seen as very expensive masterpieces?Noone complains then.

what about the one at Amari? surely at 90 that should have sold? is there a story?
its because they were being greedy, they advertised it for I think 79k then bumped it up to 99k with in a month as the gt3 rs 996 prices were going mentalIainRS said:
Agree with that entirely although it was 87k it was initially advertised at. I also think the fact that its been modified puts people off, originality is key with this sort of car.
yeah it's quite strange, I've been looking at ferraris, and they are all for changing exhausts etc - but when it comes to Porsches completely opposite.Xps911 said:

Not to everyone. I deliberately went out of my way to find an improved car. There are many issues with a stock GT3RS (look at the recent Steve Rance thread). These can be easily fixed by fitting Passives, changing braking system, exhaust, aero...whatever tickles your fancy. If the car is to be used as intended why settle for the inferior OEM option. Yes, sure, the mods may have made a great car even better but it doesn't really matter, its simply not original and that's really my point.
I was keenly looking for a GT3RS when that one came up and I thought about going to see it and offering them LESS than the original asking price of 87k because it had been modified! However when they somewhat greedily bumped the price up by 12k overnight my mind was quickly made up!
Also black is probably not the most desirable colour for a GT3RS; you never see any of the other colours sitting around for sale for very long.....
I'm so glad I didn't as managed to get what I really wanted along just recently, a well tidy, nicely specced, low miles Orange one!
