Yip that was my car. The accident happened 24hrs after I picked it up with only 80 miles on the clock. Both myself and my 4 year old daughter walked out the car with no injuries what so ever. We were incredibly lucky.
And just before people go off on one about me driving like an idiot with my daughter in the car, I was doing fifty in a sixty zone in a straight line. The car spun and was hit by an oncoming car which ripped the engine out the GT3 (that ended up about 100 feet away half way up a tree). The four people in the other car had to be cut out but were also luckily okay. The GT3 was going to roll but again luckily hit a telephone pole which stopped it going over (you can see where it hit the pole on the drivers side just in front of the door). I'm not going into details in an open forum of how it happened. The insurance has paid me out in full (although they did keep asking me for the mileage as I don't think they believed me!).

Wow! Glad to hear you both walked away unharmed. And just before people go off on one about me driving like an idiot with my daughter in the car, I was doing fifty in a sixty zone in a straight line. May I ask if you are planning on replacing it with another 991 GT3?

Glad you and your daughter are OK, that's the main thing. No offence but why's that then? I'm sure as enthusiastic drivers we'd all be interested to know just how a car spins off the road whilst going in a straight line at 50mph.I'm not going into details in an open forum of how it happened. The insurance has paid me out in full

Breaking traction at those speeds would make you think of aqua-planing though it would have to be quite deep water to overcome the depth of those tyres at that speed but it would be very interesting to know if they can be overwhelmed so easily (I'm obviously assuming lead footed-ness isn't to blame what with your precious cargo etc).
Excluding the above I can only assume mechanical failure?
As all have said, both you & yours are fine & that's what counts the most, but your post seems to pose more questions than it answers.

My post doesn't pose any questions. For reasons of my own I'm not willing to discuss the details of the matter. If I knew you and I met you in the pub I would tell you. DMC2 - thanks for coming onto the thread and letting everyone know you're ok - it's a great attitude you have as well - hope you can replace it with something else soon
+1These things can happen with these cars and potential tyres combos in the kind of weather we have been having.
Good to hear all occcupants in both cars were ok. Hopefully all will get over it in time.
