Thanks for posting. A agree, that the red logo is a bit obtrusive so i would simply paint it black and then leave it at that. At the end of the day it is behind you and all that matters is the sound. I just had a look at mine and they still look ok but the plastic is very fragile so i am not sure that they will last for much longer.

For what its worth just replaced my (std not hifi) system in my 993 with Pioneer digital head unit, Focal 2 way 5.25'' (130 AS), and Alpine SXE's 6x4's on the rear parcel shelf. Works beautifully although bass is compromised in a 993 without a subwoofer but i didn't want to find a place for it as I wanted to keep it looking standard. Fitted the crossover in the door pockets and the Focal tweeters were small enough to go into the standard 993 door pods with silicon adhesive .

Needed to take the cards off to fit but no other mods other than adding sound deadening

The sound is transformed and the adjustable crossovers are a revelation all the kit was supplied by AudioFile in Bishops Stortford (essex/Herts border)...or they will supply and fit. Looking at their work I'd trust them to do anything and they certainly knew what my 993 needed without even a prompt

I apologise if you know this already, but the offsets on those wheels looks 'wrong' and they are probably aftermarket copies... apart from looks, they may be heavier than OE, and your driving experience may see some lovely improvement if you sourced some lightweight wheels with the correct offset.

yep cheers although all the paperwork says they are OE (or rather there is no evidence that they are not - theres a shedload of history)..ive been a bit lazy on research so youve prompted me to get into some data

re the 993 wheels - they look much too inboard from the photos. Why not whizz one off and look at the part numbers?

The widebodied (WB) 993 had the exact same underpinnings as the narrow-bodied (NB), but in order to position the rear wheels inline with the wider rear arch, the rears have either a 25mm spacer or there's an extra 25mm of wheel where it meets the hub.

So the 18" Turbo1 wheel for the WB is offset ET40, and for the NB is ET65 - if fitted with the 17" Cup '93 wheel it's only option is a spacer.

Here's a photo of a couple of hollowspokes I had lying around - look carefully and you'll see the one on the RHS has more material depth where it meets the hub.
