That just doesn't make sense to me. How can a 911 be worth more than an Enzo? I know it's a GT2, but it's still a 911 body shell.
So is a 911 R, 2.8 RSR and ST.

399 Enzos ? How many 993 GT2's produced ? quite a few less if my memory serves me correctly ......
Enzo chock full of electronic gadgetry, 993 GT2 has nowt. Enzo race provenance ? Zilch. 993 GT2 ? Well I'll let you do a search smile
Yes but it's still a 911 body shell of which they made thousands of, that's my point. It's not CGT, F40, F50, Enzo etc. which are all unique in their own right. The market obviously feels they are worth it or they wouldn't be going for that kind of money, but if I was spending £800K I'd be buying a Zonda not a 911.
Everyone's different I guess but I'd rather open my garage door to see a 993 GT2 than any Italian hypercar.

If I had the money I'd be buying one of these.
Greedy so and so lol...

Lots of people who would have a 911 over an Enzo. There's engineering excellence in a GT2 which even a Enzo can't match if you feel like hammering a car around a track for 100 laps and use it as intended.
It's also speculation isn't it. I am sure as hell they didn't pay anything close to that for it, but with such rarity unless you are desperate to sell it is worth a try - just takes someone with a love for them and £100M in the bank.

They had a Carrera GT in for £600K too. Personally, I thought the flat nose RUF @ £110K seemed better value.

What you are forgetting is that the type of person that buys these cars has ALL of the cars you are mentioning! And many more! And I am sure that most collectors will want some of the best 911's in their collection. The 993GT2 would be on the list!

Its not like they a flipping a coin to decide is it!

Remember well when Ct Classics had 2 in stock desperate to sell , Silver one for 74K and nice Black one for 76K but my wife said she would not be seen dead in one ( Arches and wings ) so got a GT3 instead .........But we still have 2 993 GT2 s although they are both GT2R evos a LHD and RHD version.
Have won many races in them and some 24 hour races as well as driven many on the road and track days ( as well as Ring )....
Would I pay that never but then I am not a banker , so cash harder to come by for me sadly
Strangely after years of Porsche , raced both 993 GT2R and RSR amongst others , I now drive Ferrari race and road as cannot afford the Porsche brand now ...
The red cars seem Ok ....
But great memories as 4 mates had 993GT2 road cars and all drove em like they had stolen them , JC, RG , RG and the best cars of all were VCs , Blue and the Blood Orange clubsport .
Amazing cars

i can assure you if i had a GT2 it would be hammered around a track as intended - its only money and you can't take it to your grave with you - personally I disagree re Enzo matching a GT2 from an engineering or perhaps I should have said endurance standpoint to be more precise smile

Yes the Enzo has more exotic construction and more electronic trickery, flappy paddle etc but you give it to a proper racing driver and it will likely break. GT2 will not. Massive difference from an engineering integrity point of view IMO though I get what Ravi is saying re Enzo.
I had one but sold it a few years ago. Bought and used as a track car.

My point now is they are too expensive for what they are. I would rather track a 964/993 Cup car at 20% of the price and not worry about it.

Yes agreed but probably will not be long before they're crazy money too!

Edited to say have you seen the price of the LW 993s at JZM. Not £750k but still probably not far off what you sold your GT2 for a few years ago !

I have a rhd 993 GT2, still use it, did a couple of track days last year, get it serviced before and after each day. Have had it 10 years. I try not to think of it's value now. Wouldn t swap it for any of the red cars, except a 40. And I already have one of them anyway. But if I didn't, I'd swap it for a 40. But nothing else.
