Its a staggering suggested price for a stock, vanilla , 996.2 GT3.

More than a 997.1 GT3RS and a 997.2 GT3 from a dealer

Speculative attempt to cash in on the bubble. Doomed surely to abject failure. That car even in this market is £55k tops.

Even if this is a wind up ( which I hope ), it doesnt help people like me who are looking at buying a car at the moment, just confuses real sellers or stops them marketing them to see what happens to prices.

Surely even that is a little optimistic - 55,000 English pounds !!???!!! Crikey I might sell mine for that. This is getting silly.

wouldnt the same be said with the 964RS though, once at 26k(?) now 250k(?)

Its a fair point but the 996.2 GT3 is not the RS, its not the original GT3 either which has a certain cachet.

The car is marginally more analogue than the 997 (And not as good a car either) but its effectively the same car as those others , even the 96RS. the 964RS. is a unique 964.

there are lots of very different parts on the 996 RS which is what makes it a very different car to own. That said I think the 996 C/S is an awesome car to own. Porsche will never make a car like the 996 RS again

I assume he'd be willing to pay 100k to px against a GT2.

I'm not sure thats really true. Yes there are quite a few unique parts , especially in the suspension but it runs the same engine and its fundamentally a 996 GT3 , as is this car and the Mark 1. There's potential for the 96RS to go stratospheric but its not sufficiently different to other GT3s to have the rarity value of the earlier RSs , IMHO.

No mate its one of the rarest RS's. Just 140 RHD ever made of a total of 683 cars Globally which includes cars kept by the factory.
The body parts are also different to the regular gt3 such as carbon bonnet and obviously the rear spoiler.
I still love the aircooled cars too

Is this a real ad or a joke? That's the first question

I cannot believe a 996GT3 is worth more than £55k (even given the current daft market) and I have one so there's a vested interest.......

Interesting point though - if pistonheads was the only place to advertise your GT3, you would be struggling to buy one 'cos other than this £80k example there are no other ones for sale!! So do the laws of supply and demand dictate that they are worth big prices - I use the term 'worth' very loosely by the way.....

Ps - I should have added that if they are 'worth' £80k then supply is going to double 'cos mine will be up for sale tonight

Theres none on autotrader either. Everyone thought pistolp wa mas spending 100k on a green 7.1rs (which makes it more than a.2'3 etc) but then someone apparently was offered 150k for the 189k green rs...

Are some of the air cooleds worth what they go for? You only have to read the other threads for the general consensus is not 😕
