Funnily enough I remember the leather smell of my first leather bucketed 6GT3 more than the current Nomex one smile

I like the Nomex smell you get when you open the door biggrin
That's not Nomex that you smell. It's all the soaked in stale sweat and farts from previous drivers: "Eau de pilote".

Yet the doubters keep praying for that pop.

Regardless of whether I own one or not, my opinion is the same - the prices of these cars aren't going to come crashing down if/when the bubble bursts. It's a simple case of supply and demand.

Lots of demand and bugger all supply

Mine has just been in for a refresh (totally different car now by the way) and whilst it was at the garage they got several offers to buy it from various people

Bought by the big fella in the SW. Regretted selling my red 996 CS last year and saw this, made a phone call, had a chat to Russ and bought it within 5 mins.
He said in first morning alone had over 30 calls and same emails enquiring about it. Having done about 10 deals with them on cars in last 12 months I know they are completely to be trusted so easy decision to make. Nice one JZM! See you on Friday 13th:-)

...and I regretted not buying your Red 996 GT3 CS at the time!
I found another one since then

Well done. Welcome back.
Does that mean you prefer the 996 GT3 to the 997 RS? Of course there is a price and ability difference...but that can be part of the attraction.

They are very different beasts as you correctly say. I've just sold the 997 RS actually (it was the one at JZM with trailer and all the mods / spares) as no time to use it properly this summer. But I think I'm attracted more to the original than the developed. Anyway knowing me I'll probably sell it and buy another come 16th June!:-)

I've just checked piston heads, auto trader and ebay and I can't find any 996 GT3's for sale only adverts offering to buy your GT3. This problem with used cars supply is only going to get worse. I was thinking of selling mine but now I'm going to carry on driving it safe in the knowledge it will be going up loads in value each year. Nice pension fund I can enjoy.

As a new(ish) 996 GT3 owner, while I don't plan to sell, it's nice to see the market at the moment.

When I short listed what to buy next (coming from an Evora) the stable residuals definitely factored along with the fact procrastination could have meant I'd never afford one!

Anyway, back to driving it and need to get this first track session booked!

This ^,
It's taken me a year to gel with my 996.2, coming from a 993, I was still hankering for that AiR Cooled sound.
But since a recent visit to The Ring & Spa, it all fell into place. Plus a trip to Ayamonte in July, I'm sure confirm, why I bought it.
I too was considering selling, but now the plan is keep it for 5 years, then pay the rest of my mortgage off, the best endowment policy ever!

But I was happy I bought it, keeping it in the PH family at least.

Hey Mark, good to hear my little red car is still in good hands. Just moving back to the UK today for couple months so come down to Cornwall and I'll show you some glorious GT3 roads. Welcome to stay over at our place and make a weekend of it. Drop me a mail or text and we can catch up next week. Cheers Dave
