Hi, I have a RHD SY 996.1 GT3 CS. Have never seen another 996.1 SY GT3 in the flesh though have a mate with a 996.2 in speed. Had it 10 years now and was warned that yellow is bad for re-sale but proving popular on GT3's. Would have got an RS (love the plastic rear window and carbon bonnet) but not a fan of white cars.
Mine's done a similar mileage to the one quoted though is not standard having had JZM fit a K400 kit a few year back. Love the noise and extra poke though wonder what impact this will have on future values (not that I'm looking to sell now).
Oh the noise !! Thanks for posting. I sold my Manthey K400 equipped car recently, it didn't seem to impact on its value at all. It may possibly narrow your target audience though.Mine's done a similar mileage to the one quoted though is not standard having had JZM fit a K400 kit a few year back. Love the noise and extra poke though wonder what impact this will have on future values (not that I'm looking to sell now).

I think because it's a Manthey conversion it shouldn't impact the value negatively,it might even add value to some people. I know I'd see it as a bonus if I was looking and yellow would be a bonus too as I still think it's THE colour for a GT3. It was my preferred colour choice but when my CS came along I was happy to settle for cobalt Mine's done a similar mileage to the one quoted though is not standard having had JZM fit a K400 kit a few year back. Well a 996.1 GT3 Clubsport in Speed Yellow with K400 kit was sold by Fletchdale Cars a few months ago at £58,000 As far as I'm aware that is currently the highest listed and subsequently "sold" price that has been seen for a mk1 GT3 in the last couple of years.
Unless anyone else knows different?
Anyone know where that car is now?

Essentially dismissed everything other than Zanzibar, Guards and Speed as not actually colours with a tenuously subjective use of quotation marks
Lets be honest - the crux of this is that predictable Silver is considerably more common than anything else and constitutes the bland option. Personally I think it is a little daft to talk about desirability of colours on these though - there just aren't enough of them about. The mk2 debate gets a lot more interesting though (with significantly more UK cars). There are significant numbers of Speed Yellow (launch colour and the one on the handbook), guards, black and silver out there. Also a fair few in cobalt and seal plus a few atlas. Other colours than those start to get a bit rare. I've certainly seen a Zanzibar (though by the mk2 it was PTS if you wanted it), but interesting colours are very scarce in my experience.

It's reasonable to suggest that it's getting to the point with 996 GT3s that you're very lucky if you can get your choice of car or you're going to have to wait for a while/pay over the odds - I'm delighted with the bland option of silver in CS spec (although I do like silver cars and would love a 997GT3 to go with it (dreaming now)
Ps no beards at my end despite an affection for silver

Judging by the classifieds, all cars (mk1, mk2, CS etc) are very scarce - in fact there are only 2 mk1s on pistonheads, no mk2s and 1 RS (not including SCoMs GT3R)

My first choice was a Swiss Speed Gelb mk1 CS with 51,000km, but it fell through. Spend a sleepless night going thru every single GT3 for sale in Switzerland and the EU, which was within budget and low miles. At the end I bought the Manthey CS mk1 prototype in Polar Silber. Beggars cannot be choosers when the right car in terms of mileage, history and specs pops up. I saw that car there when I was picking up my new GT3 from them the other day. To my untrained classic Porsche eye it did look very very lovely. Strong strong money though. If anyone's interested and has any Qs, drop me a PM and I'll dredge up what I can of my memory of it for you Slippydiff said:

As far as I am aware - No (comfort with leather buckets originally).Dan Sait's old car wasn't a CS either (another caged silver one with track friendly upgrades). Not sure on the ownership of that now either.
Alex Drobik's Clubsport is now a Manthey K400 conversion (you already have that car on the list).
