And we are heading into the "low season" for these cars now..
Although you have to wonder whether that cyclic market still exists. From what I understand the asking/selling price of these cars has always been some-what trackday season driven. But with cars appearing to be bought more as investments as opposed to track toys at this point, will the seasonal price swings still hold true?
Interesting few months ahead for those following the market..

Not massively surprising
I heard from someone in the trade that an 'off the radar' car with sub 10,000miles has gone recently for a price in the sixties
So we're back to no 996 GT3s available for sale?
My car is insured for an agreed valuation of £60k. If I were to put it up for sale tomorrow I think it would be close to that for the asking price if I'm honest. I heard from someone in the trade that an 'off the radar' car with sub 10,000miles has gone recently for a price in the sixties

and you'd get that asking price in jig time... the cars are only heading one way..... and justifiably so!apart from 6.2 black comforts
amazes me where they have all gone.
I remember when I was buying my CSL a few years back there were loads out there for sale. well not loads but you could find 10-15 on PH for sale. now zippo.
I am going to run mine into end of November and once the tax is out then SORN until april I think. I live in the sticks so the roads are just hideous over winter and semi slicks on a GT3 is not a good mix with the winter ;-)

Seems to me that if you are in the market for a 996 GT3 now, you just have to sit and wait for a car to surface. When I bought mine I wasn't fussed on a particular colour or spec, I just wanted a good 996 GT3 with excellent provenance.
I was very lucky that a car came along in a colour I liked (Atlas Grey)from a trusted specialist when I was in a position to purchase.
I think in earlier days you could pick and choose, it was a buyers market but now it seems there are more buyers than cars, and you all know what happens in this situation!!
The prices just go up.
Great if you have one, not so if you want one.

Can't remember seeing any dip in prices out of season last year, so can't imagine it would happen this year, fewer and fewer for sale and I can't see many owners "cashing in" unless interest rates suddey jumped up.
This. I have been following the prices of these for about 9 years and there has always been an significant seasonal dip (the price swing across the year used to be over 10% typically). Until last year when it simply didn't happen. I don't think that it will happen again either. I am not even sure that they will even flatten with the supply so low in the market.cbgt3 said:

Thanks, I hadn't seen one in that colour before I viewed mine, I had looked at and driven a 996 GT2 in silver but I didn't get a good feeling about the car or the history so walked away, GT3 was actually my 3rd choice of Porsche, 1st was a 1989 911 Turbo, 2nd was the GT2, 3rd was the GT3.
Turbo was stunning, reminded me of my 3.2 Carrera sport (ONLY QUICKER)!!!
I was going to keep looking for a GT2,
But when I saw the GT3 in that colour and drove it, I was hooked, and still am, for me it gives me the "wow" factor every time I open the garage door and every time I drive it.
I am sure the GT2 would have done the same but the GT3 was there at the right time, right condition and fully documented history so the deal was done and I absolutely love it.
No regrets whatsoever.

Probably one of the last GT3s in decent condition we'll see under £50k!

Morning gents,
It was indeed the same car. We took a deposit on it mid last week and the buyer, for reasons unrelated to the car, decided to pull out of the purchase. We re-advertised it yesterday afternoon and it sold this morning following an email exchange over night.
