There is a nice 65k mile speed yellow clubbie 996.2 on....ebay!! It's with a trader (dove house) and well priced at £55k. Be quick!
Think that has sold already... Maybe wrong though...
It was on the market for 5 days, now sold to a UK owner.

Not surprised really, I think that was a very fair price for that car, it looked really nice.

Slippydiff and Cheburator Mk2 need to be less bitter sweet discussing loud whispers ......making out that Italian cars are pretty ugly has already in another sphere been classed as inverted racism, and liable, according to a well known legal eagle. Wise not to make silly comments about cars they know absolutely nothing about, especially in Italy’s deep south......!!!! It so happens the particular car Cheburator dismissively ‘’trolled’’ was owned by a prominent member of Porsche Sicily and a famous University Professor, and happens to be a totally mint accident free car car anyone would be proud to own. Conversely it has never been offered for sale until last week when it was sold to a foreign dealer within 24 hours of going on sale . So I recommend readers don’t always believe internet trolls.

Bit confused about this car.

Wasn't this car listed last week as having had a new front wing and a full respray? Same story about moving abroad, etc

Now it says no accident history and no mention of respray and wing etc

Have I missed something?

Shall I expect the horse head at the bottom of my bed or in the post? Perhaps I should never go to Sicily again?! You sound oh so scary! Better get my solicitor to look into my inverted racism pronto too silly The Internet is a great place - you meet all sorts of funny people...

It's also gone up in price £5k too, I'm sure it was £59k in the original advert a week ago...

Yep definitely the same car that was described as having had a full respray, it was advertised 7 or 8 months ago too if I remember correctly and it mentioned the respray at that time too.

Timing chains are complete right? So if the timing chain has been replaced then the engine has been broken down and rebuilt?

To be fair, a new front wing is no big deal, hardly structural is it? A full respray? I guess it depends why, but if done well, is surely a good thing!

By liable I presume you mean libel ?

Nothing libellous in my posts. You'll notice the use of one of these ? and the word "if".

As for the comments made about the Italian vendor requesting a deposit prior to allowing a viewing, they came straight from the horses mouth, I'm doubtful the potential purchaser had reason to make the story up as he went on to buy a more expensive car from a vendor in Germany who was considerably more transparent.

As for your comments about internet trolls, I too suggest readers don't always read too much into what's posted ...........

Not arguing with either of those points. Just odd that the advert did mention them, then the advert changed and now specifically says no accident history. Just wonderig which advert is right. Makes a bit of a difference if you're asking top money. If this sold at this price it would be the high watermark for a mk2, I believe.

The advert I am sure referred to OSF wing being damaged and car having full repaint!
Owner replied to another thread recently on 996 GT3's and said he had lots of interest in the car, so why has he changed the advert?

Trouble is listing the car giving detailed information about the new wing and respray is transparent but then changing the advert and saying no accident history and putting the price up by 5k is just going to make potential buyers run a mile. I think.
Could be wrong but time will tell.

Anyone know where the existing watermark is roughly sitting then please? I need to renew the insurance on mine in the next couple of weeks and so am wondering with the recent price movements what a realistic replacement valuation might be so I don't leave myself under-covered. 2005 comfort model with leather Recaro buckets, FPSH, 30k miles, mint. Consensus views please?

It appears that for the moment the high watermark for a Mk2 car is the blue comfort that The Cambridge Motor Company has sold for £73,995 as that is how it is shown on their website.

Separately, a Polar Silver Mk2 CS with 20k on the clock definitely sold privately for £60k, needing £2k of work and a major service. The car was posted on Rennlist by the new owner last week. Did not have aircon, otherwise, would have been probably £65k.

IIRC The Cambridge Motor Company Blue GT3 was a MK1 Comfort. In terms of the 'water mark' for a 996.2 GT3 comfort with low mileage and A1 condition - I'd say not less than £60k. Your insurers may require an independent valuation to support a figure such this.

Would support the £65-70K mark as being at least the starting point from the trade...

Thanks Alex - I always forget that the A/C is an option that is deemed to impact the value! Mine does have it. On the basis that mine is not a CS though - perhaps 60k should be adequate for a current value if I ignore these recent listings which perhaps have not sold at that level anyway.

How long has that Cameron car been up for?

For insurance purposes you have to be looking at £70k minimum for any Mk2 car and £75-80k for a mk1. And then appraising the value ever quarter. Prices appear to have moved £10-15k since the beginning of the year.
