Many thanks for the feedback siheb. Did you find out the mileage on the new lump? From the add I think it is date related (year 2000 fitted from memory)
Ref the bold above, I can see why your interest died away.
Problem I have is I have an Alpine tour and a few track sessions planned this year in my RS but at the same time they are selling for crazy prices now so swapping to this 996 will make me not worry so much about mileage/wear and tear.
I'm not sure what the current value of a 7.1RS is at the mo; there is only one for sale on PH; the orange one for £130K. Mine being LHD means in the UK about £10K less??? Then I have no idea how to factor in a barely run in 3.8l engine and around £100,000 of unique mods. To all intents and purposes it is now a cross between a 7.2RS and a 4.0l but a fair bit lighter and more mental. As there is no other to compare it to I have no idea of value
The water is muddy with this one Siheb, has seen the massive spec and the the invoices that accompany this car. A similar mileage standard car sold over the weekend for the same asking price of the Zanzibar car. That should tell you what the £100k worth of mods to your car are worth to a wider audience. Ref the bold above, I can see why your interest died away.

Yes, they'll be the occasional track day junkie who'll want a massively modified car, but pay a premium for the privilege ? I'm dubious. Your car will appeal to a very small demographic, but as their values rise, the market will get increasingly sniffy about modified cars.
If your car is LHD, I'd try advertising it in mainland Europe for a premium (not sure how much) over and above what the other LHD cars are selling for.
I really couldn't replace this car; it's performance is utterly devastating but at the same time prices are such that I could have an NSX, R500, Ultima, S1 Elise, and a 993 all together for the same money.
It is so horrible to have such a weapon but always being eyeful on what would happen if I prang it. I am off for an afternoon session at the Ring GP circuit tomorrow. I already know I'll be wheeling out my 996 instead. It's such a shame and leaves me in this predicament of not knowing what is best to do...
I am pretty au fait with man-maths and even applying all it's glorious principles are getting harder and harder justify.

I see a great business case for his and hers, or his and his, or even his and also his I think that is Slodge's old car
(Edit: to be politically correct and avoid any offence, I guess I should include her and her, and her and also her!)
Yes my old car. Didn't have the side graphics on during my ownership. Another 6GT3 I miss!! Not quite sure how it's gained £20k in 6 months, but that's the crazy car market we live in.
Cracking track car, after all the mods less great on the road. If anyone is interested happy to tell you all about it. No bad stories, loved and looked after by me and RPM.
Have a good weekend.
Cheers
Slodge
