I would consider swapping my mk1 for an RS (+ cash adjustment) but that's about it.

As time goes by, driving these cars on the road
are feeling so different to the modern stuff. Not better
just different and more mechanical. IMHO.

Yep - jumping out of even a 997 GT3 into a 996 GT3 instantly hits you with the increased mechanical / analogue feel. I am not getting into the debate of whether it is 'better' - that is up to subjective interpretation and intended use. However, if you like the mechanical feel then it is certainly greater in a 996.

And also increased detail and connectivity which has been lessened with later generations.

I was just casually browsing through the classifieds this morning & I noticed there are virtually no 996 GT3's for sale. Checked Autotrader & the same.

I've not looked for ages but I always seem to remember there would be a fair few up for sale. Is this a recent thing, are they really that scarse now?

No I'm not selling mine, but genuinely interested if the market has shifted significantly.

I think I would struggle to drop the mk1 so it would to go to bed with a friend!

I'm looking forward to getting my 996.1 GT3 (MR K400) back from JZM soon - service, etc - but also having new KWs fitted as the current ones are over 8 years old and also having Cup Car gear shift cables installed, then off to the Ring for DN10 in a couple of weeks. Can't wait smile

Awesome machine and will never sell smile

As an owner I can't see anything at all on the horizon I'd swap for and I think that's the biggest problem in supply. That and the fact the cars are of an age now where 99% are bought outright instead of financed and with the money market the way it is, there's no point pulling cash out unless it's a fire sale.
^ What he said - no plans to offload mine, wouldn't have a clue what could replace it.

I'm thinking of selling my 996 RS. My pal will deal with the sale and is going to take pics this week.

It wants for nothing. Last year had refurbed Bilsteins, New Pads and Disks, new cups tyres, new arch liners, total gearbox strip down (for no apparent reason at a cost of 5k) original panel car, full JZM Geo.

Not many of these left..........

I would speak to Russ @ JZM as well. He has connected a number of buyers and sellers recently and will have a leading view of market value - personally I would ask JZM for help with the sale.
