Which OPC for 997.2RS service
Discussion
I think you'd be surprised how many have looked after them. However, that certainly doesn't mean you shouldn't do some homework on your P&J as the standard does vary (typically little things that aren't core service elements but them taking care not to scuff interior, spill oil around filler pipe etc). I consider Guildford and Swindon very trustworthy and often see GT3s in there.
So far most of my homework is being done for me... The number of OPC's I've called that haven't called me back is staggering! and before anyone starts... No I'm not some sort of diva that expects a call back 30secs after I hang up.
Swindon and Bristol both sound like they look after their customers, gives me an excuse to visit friends twice too...

Leicester look after loads of cars from the south, the place is always full of high end cars in service.
Must be a reason for that.
I 'think' the reason for that has now left to take over the service dept of a different Sytner group dealership.Must be a reason for that.
Someone I know has just had a less than favourable experience with Leicester so they're ooot.. which is a shame because they're one of the close ones!
Dropped into Tonbridge last week to have a dodgy electric window switch sorted (door panel off I believe) and had a chance to speak to the tech doing the job called Martin (?) that seems to have been working on Porsches since the late 80's and is their GT3 specialist. Due to retire in the not too distant future, but someone passionate about attention to detail and was happy for him to be working on my P&J.
Waited for the job to be completed and indulged in a very nice showroom display 991 Turbo S Convertible, in black with black leather (yawn) but a shed load of yellow stitching around the whole interior transformed it. Beyond my means at £158k but rather tasty none-the-less.

What's Guildford like for the service department? Need to get something non major done and would prefer to use the nearest OPC than go to Reading/PRG just for an odd job if possible...
Guildford have been looking after 3.8 RS and prior to that looked after my 7.1 GT3. I always go to them even though they aren't the nearest. On the rare occasion I'm not 100% happy with something they are very accomodating in rectifying it to ensure it's a perfect job. I go to Nasar in the service team. Skittles001 said:

thanks for that, the RS will be going there shortly then.Picked up the car after a week at Wilmslow...
Breath of fresh air..
I called half a dozen OPC's during my 'search' - Only 2 called me back and only one mentioned that the 111pt check isn't charged for if the warranty renewal if its being serviced at the same time.
They were happy to pander to my requests for VAL's on dropping off and picking up, happy to accommodate me when 'I' had time to drop off and pick up... and when I asked them not to wash it.. they didn't! Brilliant
Win for Wilmslow.
There was a white 997GT2 with red decals in the workshop when I dropped off and a red 991GT3 in when I dropped off and picked up.. I guess thats in for an engine swap.
They also had a very nice LHD 356, beautiful car wearing some racing 'patina'

A really good mate of mine just sold his 996RS that was owned previously by someone very senior in the red bull team-fwiw he said there are only 2 people he would trust to to set up a 911 GT3 properly in the UK -porsche Reading and Steve McHale at JZM.
For someone above I could not recommend Colchester sadly... My mate had a 997 GT3 that they were clueless at setting up suspension wise etc and for me personally I had a 997 turbo that I had them look after but not very well either. Shame nice people there but never felt the car was sorted properly until it had a few bits checked over by an Indy.
