Can I borrow your man maths calculator ?
Premium Bonds Typical yield - 1.35%
£30,000 invested - yield would be approximately £400 per annum
996 Turbo - let's call it a £30K car
Running costs - tax £290, tax £400, MOT £50, Servicing etc £1K - let's call it £1,750 all in
Let's just say that prices are going up by 10% per annum - £3K - so, after costs I am £1,250 up - about 3 times the yield of Premium Bonds - add in some fuel (I only do about 3K miles per annum) and you can call it almost twice the yield.
Simples!

I could have used £40K (max Premium Bonds per person) - but then I would have had folks telling me that £40K for a 996T was crazy!
Outwith the exotic rare Porsches and the historic stuff, 996 Ts are rising quicklyand are hot property. I prefer it when they are not worth too much as you dont
get the guilt factor of driving it a bit harder. I have another real drivers
Porsche that I used to drive how I pleased, over the years it has increaded in value
by 4 times, so now it sits under a cover and has gentle exercise.....Not right somehow.

On my 3rd 6t and it's a tip others both been manuals.
With it been 500+bhp the box suits the car very well.
No over revs on the history and quicker than my old GT2.
I use it in manual mode and love it, not having to take my hands off the wheel.
Both my other turbos required clutches.
I miss my Tip, all you do is change gear in the manual, I especiallyWith it been 500+bhp the box suits the car very well.

miss crusing about eating or drinking with the free hand in town with
no fuss. If you use as a manual up and down it can be great fun and with
a remap there is little in the performance to be gauged, when you factor in
it can taken a map without needing an uprated clutch and never been over
revved its starts to sound like serious sense.....I like the manual when pressing on

You sir, are a bd!It's been 9 years since I last had an MSA licence and nearly 6 since I last owned a proper sports car and my 996tt purchase wasn't really ever intended for the track, but these pictures and videos of competition look very tempting!
