Gen 2 Turbo Europipe
Discussion
Regards no gains on Europipe for gen 2 turbo, I asked them to explain and the story was you feel the increased torque and hp at low rpm and midrange plus sharper throttle response. But in the upper rev range the ecu takes over and the gains are gone.
This phenomenon happens with all less restrictive sport exhausts. The ecu limits the max boost pressure so there are no performance gains at full throttle.
The 997.1 Turbo uses two mass air flow sensors in front of the intake to determine the amount of incoming air, the 997.2 Turbo uses a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor inside the intake system to determine the amount of incoming air. On the old model any amount of extra air is compensated with extra fuel so you can get a slightly higher output with faster spinning turbochargers. With the new model the maximum pressure inside the intake system is limited so no need for extra fuel and no extra output either.

Decent 997.2 turbo Europipe video here:

I decided not to procure sports exhaust given was concerned that the quicker low rev boost pick up (boost gradient?) would leave a 'signature' within ecu log, and possibly void OPC warranty upon ecu interrogation if engine popped, even if exhaust was reverted back to stock. If warranty is important to you would be worth getting answer on this point from chosen exhaust supplier.
