997 Turbo H&R Anti Roll bars & Bilstein Damptronics
Discussion
Hi folks,
I have a 997 Turbo coupe with standard shocks and TechArt lowering springs. I have been thinking about adding H&R anti roll bars, but I'm not sure if it will be too much? I don't want the car to be too stiff. I don't track it (yet) although I imagine I will in the future maybe. I have been thinking about Bilstein Damptronics but I don't want to end up with a track car on the street.
Can anyone give me feedback on these additions, pros and cons. Does anyone on here have any of these on their cars?

I've driven a 07 turbo with damptronics and H&R anti roll bars. The car is much stiffer and more fidgety - sort of like when you stiffen up the PASM into sport mode but even stiffer in my view.
I've also driven a 07 turbo on stock suspension but with GT2 anti roll bars and the car whilst a little bit more fidgety at low speeds it was so much more precise than stock it is almost unbelievable what a difference such a small mod makes to the handling. I think your T lowering springs (I think they're H&R or Eibachs lowering springs anyway) with stiffer ARBS are the way to go unless you are a track junkie. Personally I'd go for the OEM GT2 arbs.

Thanks for the feedback gents.I'll have a read of the thread. So maybe just the anti roll bars? Yeah the TechArt springs are made by Eibachs (it's written on them) but I believe they are made to a different design than the Eibachs version.

Interesting. Would you recommend the techart springs?Edited by Isysman on Tuesday 2nd September 16:47

I know Bilsteins are popular because you keep PASM but is it really the best option? I have been in cars with aftermarket coilovers and quite often the ride is better than stock, not worse, simply because better quality dampers meant you could run softer springs.
I believe the standard setup is made by Bilstein. My main concern is that it won't be too firm/hard when just driving with my lady onboard. I want ideally softer for normal and harder when I'm feeling sporty. So the PASM is in theory ideal for me. Just wanted to find out if it could be imropved on. I think maybe just doing anti roll bars might be the next stage for me. See what is what afterwards.IMI A said:

Well I used them because I wanted the car to be lower and retain as much of the standard feel as possible. So they have pretty much done that. It is a little more firm but not that much that I've had any complaints that anything has changed from passengers.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
