Its the 996 turbo that remains the stand out version of all the 911 turbo for many different reasons, it blew the minds of the press and made a huge impact when it was first released and pretty much ALL journalists still prefer the 996t to 997t for a variety of reasons. The 997t is more modern and a lovely albeit more muted car but its the 996t that will have more of a long term status and value for well maintained low mileage examples. It most probably won't reach 993t levels (even though the 996t is a vastly superior drive in every sense) but watch out for a gradual rise.
Nail on head!

Speaking of 996 turbo values, I only see two GT2s for sale one apparently "under offer" lol and both POA. Does this mean dealers don't want to commit to a price since they're in flux?

It is a sellers' market at present - basically I think that the dealers are playing off the prospective buyers against each other, almost in a bidding war

The one under offer is a PH forum members car, ex Rob Huff car, there was a fair bit of interest in it. Think it's sold subject to the inspection, he can confirm though.

Cool, it'll be interesting to hear what prices they are.

Decided to take mine for a weekend road trip, started with an overnight in London so hardly a thrilling drive but out and about tomorrow afternoon/Sunday/Monday, loving it

If turbos are making 60k what on earth are GT2s making?

£75k upwards for say a car with 25,000 miles and original panel with good history. Move up or down from that point depending on mileage, provenance and crash repair history. Still pretty decent value IMO

I still believe the 996 gt2 has lots of appreciating to do very special cars and good ones are becoming increasingly difficult to find,
they will be 6 figures before you know it.

Agree - I am trying to find one to stash away, rather than leave the money in the bank - very tough to find

Mollytherocker and M33UFO,

Why is ruffled leather so loathed?
I know it's fashionable to say that it's unloved, but I don't understand why.
What is it that you detest so much?

I'm guessing here, but maybe something to do with it looking like an old man's sack? hehe

For me, it just looks tatty and dated.

Haha! Seriously though, ruffled leather is not THAT bad. It wouldnt put me off buying an otherwise nice car but it just looks very dated and something you would see in an old soggy Rover.

I was always watching these and hoping for them to drop a bit more. I'm sure 911 Virgin had similar cars for £25K last year.
