Does anybody know these two cars ? Gen1 997 GT3RS x 2....

Hi Folks,

Being on my 5th 911 I'm interested now in possibly moving into GT3RS territory. The gen 1 black/orange combo is definitely my preferred colour option. At the moment there are two for sale on the scene. Does anyone know these cars : 1 @ JZM & 1 @ Amari Supercars(modified)

I believe the Black and Orange RS is owned by 'DBlue' on here.

The Amari car has been discussed here before, the previous owner chimed in and set the record straight! You should be able to find the thread through the search function.

for what use, ? the 997.1 RS to me is the pants RS of the bunch and now at £100k not worth 35k over a non RS

most RS model had a bigger changes but the 997.1 RS did not I would take a £89k 997.2 normal GT3 every day of the week or juts a 997.1 GT3.
that's if I could even warrant buying a GT3 which I cannot.

Blacks the worse colour for it also imo.

good look with your hunt but for 100k that model would be way down on the list.

Thanks guys - I'll search for the system for the Amari car (been on for a while hence why I was curious)

I see your comments re the gen1 .97 RS and I've heard they are slightly more softcore compared to other RS's in terms of ride etc ...... certainly doesn't mean the car is poor - still a blisteringly good car. Simply cant justify £130k plus for a gen 2.

Black / orange - no rights or wrongs here - everyone has their own taste.

I think mrdemon was refering to the straight 997.2 gt3 and not the RS and for what its worth, I agree with him that it is the better car.

No not from memory. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the car, as stated by the owner. He made some subtle mods and then sold it.

Is 5 previous owners an issue on a 2007 GT3 RS ? Doesn't sit easily with me somehow even given it has a full OPC svs history......

The number of owners would not necessarily put me off. I’d always buy on condition. Five fastidious and car loving owners who have taken care of their pride and joy would always be my preference over one mechanically and cosmetically unsympathetic owner…I am not in anyway suggesting this is the case with the other car, but just making a theoretical comparison.

I am sure JZM could show you the data and servicing records etc to put your mind at rest.

The fact that JZM are selling the car means they are putting their reputation on the line so you can be damm sure the car is a good one!

Owned by a PHer here as mentioned above by V8SKN and am sure it has been very well taken care of - as always said, buy on condition.

Well the 997RS gen 1 was the first to have the Wide Body (That's pretty significant)
Then you have the massive Carbon Fibre rear wing, Single mass Flywheel, Adjustable rear wishbones, Wider wheels, Plexi glass rear screen,
Different front splitter, Different steering wheel, RS logo on sills and Rear shelf. Not to mention it comes as full clubsport spec, so
Nomex buckets, roll cage, Bla Bla Bla. ( that lot must cost a fair amount ) Then perhaps the most important part. Its an 'RS' something
you cant buy and stick on a standard car.
