Congratulations to both the OP and AndrewD on purchasing one of the last truly great analogue supercars, make sure they're put to good use! Any chance either of you (or both) could invest in a goPro, or similar, and post some footage up on here? I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who wouldn't mind living vicariously for a few minutes seeing footage of these spectacular cars!

Collected this last week, 3-400 miles in and it is awesome. Clutch frightens me to death but I'm getting used to it .
Taking it to Reading next week to get a once over.
Anyone else nervous of the clutch ?
Is it advisable to have no acceleration at all when letting the clutch out?
Anything else to look out for?
The red one on the previous post looks incredible!!
You mean you didn't get Reading to check over the car prior to buying?
Don't touch the throttle until the car is fully moving, needs some sensitivity with your left foot but at worst the car just stalls. It is quite nerve wracking on a slight uphill incline waiting at roundabouts or traffic lights it has to be admitted, especially with a bunch of cars behind..

When you say don't touch throttle until fully moving is this when you still have your foot on clutch pedal but the car has started to move, or wait until pedal fully lifted up?
Also, when performing low speed manoeuvres eg into and out of garage I assume you have to feather the clutch otherwise you'll be doing 35-40 mph?
Advice appreciated
PS. What a totally AWESOME car
PPS. Myles thanks for kind comment on my red beast. Yours is also stunning!

That's like asking how you explain to someone how you walk!! I know what you mean but it's a sensation you get used to. I prefer to completely come off the clutch before aplying the throttle although I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to contradict me Also, when performing low speed manoeuvres eg into and out of garage I assume you have to feather the clutch otherwise you'll be doing 35-40 mph?

Was told to do this as well. Have a question if i could, was also told the manual advises starting on level ground in 2nd gear, does anyone really do this?

As others have said above, the clutch is relatively easy to use once you trust the anti-stall software. So, from rest just ease out the clutch with no throttle, and you will feel the clutch bite, and then the anti-stall software sustain the engine revs. Once you've started rolling, you can ease in the throttle.
You can do this on hill starts as well - either using the handbrake, or (as I do) using your right foot on the brake pedal, and just easing off the brake once the clutch is biting. Takes a bit of nerve to trust the system but it does work. I do still stall very occasionally, but it's no big deal.
If you use the throttle before the clutch engages, the anti-stall software switches off and you are on your own - and generally the car will stall unless you feed in a lot of revs, which is not good at all for clutch longevity. So I just roll away from the line without any gas. It works in second gear as well (on the flat).
Other things? Well, the car is incredibly well engineered so it should be fine, but the chaps at Reading are second to none and will find any issues.
The only other advice is to change the tyres to the N-rated Michelin Super Sports - they really do transform the handling compared to the original fit PS2s.
Enjoy (and take care in cold weather - the traction control is incredibly basic and tends to only come in after you've had a moment!).
Cheers

It's horses for courses - both work well (but 1st only for hill starts I've found).
Cheers
