I'm seriously thinking about it as an everyday car, just curious if anybody else is?

My spec so far is:

Sapphire Blue
Black Turbo S wheels
PDK
Leather interior
Park assist front and rear
Cruise
Telephone prep

Tempted by glass sunroof

tough market now at that price

AMG GT and the new P13 with the R8 round the corner

I think the 991 would come last in cars I would want to own out of those 4.
esp with the Face life due out next year.

depends if you need 4 seats I guess.

the AMG GT looks a nice place to sit.

All of those have 2 seats so are useless to me.

How much better is the 991 compared to the 997 when it comes to rear legroom? I think it's a joke really; i tried it once with adults in the rear and since then have borrowed a car if needed more than 2 people, so i basically have a 2 seater.

Which brings me to the Cayman GTS - i'd rather one of those as it is a better car than the 991 and with the money saved you could get a Golf GTI as a daily hack.

I also agree that the GTS for the money is not top of the class. I wouldn't spent £120k on a car when a facelift is on the horizon.

As I have already said I need a 4 seat car, my two young kids fit in the back of a 911 no problem. So why would I consider a Cayman GTS.

And a 991 GTS is not £120k, my spec is £96k before discount. And name one other car that can transport 2 kids that comes close to the level of driving enjoyment at GTS will give? No, I didn't think you could.

I like the look of that spec. (I need people to buy these new, so I stand a chance of getting a decent used one later on.)

I wonder what sort of discounts are available on factory order 911 GTSs?

The 991 is an incredibly practical car really. Even though the rear seats are only suitable to house kids, having a back seat is so handy for chucking stuff on when jumping in the car. I really missed the back seats when I had a Caymen.

The spec that you've gone for there sounds lovely.

Needing the extra seats as well I have also toyed with buying a 991.
A carrera would be my price limit, I had always decided to wait for gen2-hoping for improved steering/niggles sorted etc.
With rumours of turbos etc, I'm thinking a well discounted run out gen1 might be best.

991 Gen 2 deliveries start Dec 2015 at the earliest, I've got one ordered for March 2016 so I will run the GTS for 16 months.

DMC2, I thought the GTS was the first of the the face lift models? (According to my local dealer) Is that not Gen 2 for the 991 or am I missing something?

The GTS is the roll out model at the end of the 991 Gen 1 lifespan, the gen 2 will be displayed late 2015.

Looks a lovely spec.

I would go for the glass roof ... and definitely not black wheels. The silver wheels against the blue paint will look awesome.

Unfortunately if you choose the TurboS wheels they only come in black. I would probably get them painted titanium by the OPC before delivery.

I've been sniffing around. It seems about £5k at the moment but it's early days yet.
£5k seems a bit high, hope that's not just 'forum' talk smile I'm looking for one as well
