Every year I get to the season I realise I'm polishing more than driving and think of selling...

Only one on autotrader and 56k seems stronger than last year. What's the story now in the GT2 market?

not particularly educated opinion on my part, but to me it seemed like they were going up. was there not a low mileage silver one listed in Q2 for about 80k. am sure somebody who tracks the market more closely will be along soon

JZM have a nice looking CS (19K miles) for £85K.

Unclepezza had his silver comfort (14k miles I think), up at £90K but has since removed it.

There's also the two which have been around a little while. The "EVO" at Specialist Cars of Malton and the BHP car which is POA and has had an apparently minor repair.

Agree they are rising slowly, but perhaps this is more sustainable than the increases we have seen in RS models. I'm still amazed that 993 Turbos are listed for sale at a higher price particularly as I owned one for nearly six years, great car but it's no GT2.

We have seen less and less cars come to market, so this can only mean a couple of things: owners are holding onto the cars as they know what they have or they are selling off book so perhaps a bit of both.

The £85k JZ car is still available and this must be one of the best examples around with the history and rare 003 spec, OPC have an 03 car at £60k but alcons and comfort seats 30k miles so already a £25k spread!

If you have a good one, hold onto it and enjoy it, they don't make them like this anymore.

What's the story with the EVO one at Malton. Has been for sale for as long as I can remember yet seems to be a decent price...

What's the difference in the spec? Mine is an 03 spec registered in 2004.

I wonder this also, it seems to have been around for a long time and at a good price.

Anyone viewed the car?

Non-standard wheels, non-standard engine cover and wing. If they have the original parts then it's a great deal.

I have t but I gather it's a bit rough underneath. Worth a look though I would imagine

Rough in what respect? Corrosion or collision damage?

Unsure - I got the impression it was just unloved. Like I say worth checking out in person

I struggled to move mine on when I needed to turn it into cash. Eventually took £39k from a dealer. All this £80k stuff is pie-in-the-sky. As has been pointed out, the above mentioned dealer has struggled to shift one at £50k for what must be 2 years in a so called rising market.

Great cars though, and I will certainly have another.

They're epic cars...although unfortunately you'll now have to add another £30K to what you sold yours for. That's what they call bad timing and they are moving upwards which was inevitable.

I wonder whether the release of a new model of a particular variant renews interest of the older generations, and thereby strengthens values?

We've seen this on GT3 over the last 12 months or so - i.e. Lots of media coverage (not all good, mind you) of the 991 GT3 and simultaneously we've seen some ridiculous asking prices for GT3... (asking prices however)

So perhaps, the release of 991 GT2 (if there is one) will renew interest in previous GT2's?

Safe to say the 993 GT2 will stay stratospheric for all time, so 996 GT2 next in line?

Porsche Leicester have just put a 997 ClubSport up for £154,850 - I went to look at a very similar car before buying mine 2.5 years ago and it was around £85k at an OPC.

I suppose both could be true....new model causing a resurgence in interest in previous examples or the lack of a replacement GT2 resulting in increased values. It's fair to say that 996 GT2's are still behind the curve when compared to comparable cars. I mean, still selling for less than a 993turbo?!! Now that's madness!

All imho.
