Looking at low mileage manual 997 Turbo coupe . Which colour would you buy or not buy. It seems there are a lot of cobalt Blue ones around but not many black or gt silver ones . Any thoughts on colour choice appreciated.

With turbo's being an everyday usable supercar I think they're best in more discrete colours.

Would
GT Silver
Meteor Grey
Cobalt Blue

Wouldn't
Black - pain to keep clean
White - too much of a fashion statement
Red - too loud

Speed Yellow being the only other colour I think that looks amazing on the 997.1 turbo, but I'm not sure I could live with it everyday!

Surprised if there aren't many black ones around, as when I was looking they all seemed to be Basalt black!

FWIW I think bright colours look great, although I may be in the minority... If you want to buy for resale I'd probably go with black, grey or silver to appeal to the mass market.

Ironically I'd have really liked a Cobalt car, but I couldnt find the right one. In the end the car I bought was Atlas Grey metallic which I think is a really nice colour. Most of the time it looks black, but in certain lights it has a blue tint especially when polished. It is quite tricky to keep clean however.

I used to have a GT Silver, never intended to buy a Silver car. This came along and the colour was absolutely magnificent. Just like a silver but much deaper

Surprised by the lack of love for White.

I'm biased, but I white looks clean and shows the lines well, especially nice if you do this to it... (although granted not everyone's taste)

I'd honestly say get the colour you want.

It you don't want Cobalt, there are plenty of other colours to choose.

If you buy the right spec car and keep it in good condition it will always to sort after.

I was looking for anything but black. I found the only car that matched the spec I wanted was a white one which was also not a colour I wanted but it was well looked after so I went for it. After a few months, the colour really grew on me and now I think it looks great.

Having said that, a week after I purchased mine a PRG turbo came on the market that had the same spec as my new car but with a bi colour interior. Typical, I searched for nearly 4 months and two came along at once hehe

As bing says. It was the 997 launch colour for the American market. I have only seen the colour once and I quite liked it. Crap name though.
