Hello there, do all 996 (1998 Carrera models) have heated door mirrors please

The heated screen works fine but the mirrors don't clear

The mirrors move fine from the internal controls - just wondered if heated mirrors was an option rather than a factory standard

Thanks

My '98 996 doesn't have heated mirrors.

My 1999 996 does have heated mirrors, although neither seemed to work until I replaced one side due to it being broken. Now I have one side that works.

Don't know why the new one works and the old one doesn't, however.

Interestingly, I can't find it as an individual option on the code list:

M270 OUTSIDE MIRROR -PLAN- DRIVER'S SIDE, ELECTRICALY ADJUSTABLE AND HEATABLE
M271 OUTSIDE MIRROR -ASPHERICAL- DRIVER'S SIDE, ELECTRICALY ADJUSTABLE AND HEATABLE
M273 OUTSIDE MIRROR, ELECTRICALLY ADJUSTABLE AND HEATABLE

...which suggests if it's electric it should be heated?

Would think so.

Pop the trim off from the inside of the door - the triangle bit on the other side of the mirror - in there is the connector for the electrics. Turn the heated screen on and poke around with a multimeter?
