Yes I do remember it being mentioned.......BUT.......the DIN weight of 1430kg according to my handbook is inclusive of 68kg driver weight (average German lol!) and 7kg luggage. Higher specced cars can obviously weigh more......heated seats, sports seats, leather dash, lift, anti dazzle etc etc all add up.

Re the 991 appearing larger I agree but in some ways this may be accentuated by a lower roofline making it look wider.......according to the handbook there appears little difference in the widths at 1.81 and 1.85 but its unclear whether the former 997.2 dimension includes mirrors......confused
With 75kg driver is something called EU weight or similar. DIN as used by Porsche is 90% fuel and fluids with no driver. Put it another way, there is absolutely no way any 991 gt3 weighs 1365kg which is what it would be per you are saying.

Porsche have usually been quite off on their claimed weights so if they claim 1435kg it wouldn't be a surprise to see most cars coming in at almost 1500kg fully fueled without driver, if not more.

The 991 GT3 will flatter a lot of drivers, the 996/997 will reward a good one but can punish a mediocre one.

I use the paddles 90% of the time - it's not about what is faster, it's about what is more enjoyable.
+1, I much prefer using the paddles unless I'm stuck in traffic where the auto is just great, best of both worlds IMO thumbup

Just finished the pudding , Rance has it , 991 GT3 an amazing car and one of the fastest but there is more to it and I am not a beardy like yellow. But maybe the 993 GT2 and GT2 R where historically ultimate drivers cars ! Could get 750 Bhp and nearly200 mph down the Kemmel enough to keep you on your toes .
Now another glass of Port ...
Merry X-mas

Be about 20 years till I manage one of these (well who knows right!). What will the GT3 be then. That must be what 2 models down the line?

Will the GT3 by then will drive itself, be fully electric and solar powered.

FML. Future is looking really dull for the motorsport and car industry.

Watching this video I wonder if the car used doesn't have an issue.. Or the driver has then. I can't think a GT3 would be so oversteer-prone.. And so little traction..?!?

What do you expect in 2 gear, not sure what that guy is trying to do or prove!
If you look at the other vid,the front tyres look well chewed up on the gt3.The size and weight of these things is going to be hard on the running gear.
To be fair, and not take to seriously,i wonder what tyres were on the hotrod comparing against a standard car.

Here's another quick review. Conditions were not ideal but worth looking.

Were you referring to the clip with Jack's car and the 991 at Willow?
If so the 991 was on MPSC2 and the other car was on Nitto NT01. So slight tyre advantage to the 991 though both are in the same sort of sector.

I have driven willow springs in a 355 about 8 years ago, its a great track smile

If you put a cup driver in the 991 he would have leathered Jack in the older car so not really a factual comparison.

The driver of the GT3 -- Randy Pobst -- won the SCCA World Challenge GT Championship with K-Pax/3R Racing in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car in 2007 and then again in 2008. He is a Porsche factory supported driver, and was chosen by them to make an attempt on the production car track record at Willow Springs in the 2015 Porsche 918, which he set.
