I want to buy a pair of buckets I can bolt in my car for use with harnesses on track days and then remove until the next track day.

Any suggestions on seats and runner arrangement ?

The originals are £7500 per pair from OPC

The 991 bucket seats are superb - I wouldn't change mine for anything else..

Aren't you going to need a cage as well? To attach the harnesses to?

Be worth spec'ing buckets even if you weren't sure as longer term you can always swap for comfort plus cash (although guess there is question re: electrics on comforts).

Electrics is merely down to programming (ie turning the various options you want/don't want on or off) albeit you'll need to get it done at an OPC probably.

Seats ? You'll have to go for a custom install, like the one on this page :

http://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/796992-gmg-raci...

And it'll work out a lot cheaper than the price you've quoted !

Speak to Mark Dunsford @ Cobra seats or Matty at Fearnsport. Matty fitted these Sparcos into my 1 M Coupe :

It was the best mod I did to the car !

Yep you can. Too high, too expensive and not supportive enough. Great for poseurs though ! ! wink

Added to which my install and trimming looked more oe than the leather armchairs fitted as standard or the BMM Performance seats tongue out

Silly me, I forgot, these are now officially THE best seats fitted to any car in the world. Period. (and will be for the forseeable future). laugh

What do these electronic armchairs weigh ? Cage and seats 80 + kgs ? The Sparcos in the 1M weighed 9kgs each ........floor and side mounts another 4kgs ........

Do the GT4 seats have adjustable LCA's or do you have to file the mounting holes to make them fit comfortably ?

Those seat mounts don't look N rated, are they ?

I'm just jesting, I'm sure you'll be incredibly happy in the new breed of Porsche "GT" cars, I mean that engine, it's exquisite. A race bred finally honed piece of engineering, designed specifically for the car, no expense spared ....... oh hold on tongue out

GT3 buckets are about 12Kg each, aren't they. Presumably the GT4 seas are very slightly heavier but not massively.

Aware of that, just making a point for future buyers.

Well, well, well, who'd have thought you'd be on here jousting on a Saturday evening ! !

So tell me, what makes you think I give a flying f*ck what a contrary keyboard warrior like you thinks anyhow ?

Furthermore, any credibility you may have had, evaporated the moment I realised you own a brace of Audis ! !

Im not overly bothered about how the seats look, I just want the functionality.

Is anyone Uk/europe done a bolt in cage for the 991 gt3 yet?
Shipping something 5foot x 4foot from the USA is not ideal.

You think Porsche would take pity on comfort owners who wish to go over to the dark side and offer them some sort of affordable program for Clubsport re-entry smile.

I never said that you should care, I just agreed with a previous poster and disagreed with you - it's the nature of Internet forums, no need to throw your toys out of the pram.
