Talking to the dealer about buying this, it has been with a chap called Nathan on registration plate 3 NRD for less than a year, allegedly owned by a doctor prior to this.

Looks like a nice car.

When it first went up on Autotrader it was priced at £38k which I thought was a real bargain for an '08 car. It subsequently appeared on PH for £48k which seemed more likely given the mileage. It seems the price has now changed to reflect this, so assume original price was a mistake..

Looks like it has adaptive seats and chrono so decent enough spec wise. Definitely worth checking out.

Yes, it is so I can have a car at the flat in Berkshire to use when I am down there.
Now seen all the necessary paperwork and put a deposit on the car yesterday.
It has been a while, how are you?

Thanks for the nudge on this option. The OPC warranty and recent fettling were the decider for the Derby car.

Edited to change wrong word with clumsy thumbs.

Are revs checked by the OPC before restarting a warranty?

Just because it has an OPC warranty doesn't mean the car is clear of over revs.

I'm slightly rusty, but an OPC can apply to Porsche if a car has ignitions in range 3 to ask if they will authorise a warranty. Ranges 3-6 are classed as 'over rev' ranges for a 997.

Thanks for the response 80quattro. I will quiz the OPC for peace of mind.

Just paid the OPC to do mine on a car I am buying. Warranty will not be done or extended if over revved

Thanks for your comment, glad your OPC is granting a warranty extension. The car I am buying has been inspected by a local OPC and the warranty is going ahead too.

Planning to pick up the 997 Saturday, after 9 years and 160,000 miles in the M6 it is time for a change. May miss the v10 noise (eisenmann exhaust). Will have to keep the 997 standard for the warranty.
