i have C2s which is silver and aero kitted. In process of changing front lip to standard GT3 black on due to it scraping on most speed bumps

Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first 911 and have also been looking for reviews on the 996 4S V 997 C2S.

I was about to buy a 996 4S but the seller changed his mind and since have been impressed by the looks of the newer 997 c2S.

Both cars look the part in their own way but my main concern is reliability. I have read various good and bad reviews for both but still don't know what way to go.

I have about 22k, which I think would by a really good 996 or an early 997 with higher miles. Unfortunately I don't think it will allow me something like the fab 997 with the aero kit bought by Flashman.

Almost back into Pork ownership, had two before and used to hang around this forum back in 2000-2008 ! Can't believe its been that long... Probably why I had to ask for a password reset

Also been going through this dilemma, 996 c4s or 997c4s.... Love both, and was prepared to spend at top end for a well sorted 996, but once I got up to £25k, budget creep took hold, and another £5k has secured me an incredibly well specced 997.1 c4s manual coupe

Pps : shame they waited till gen 2 to put the reflector back
But still has a lovely bum, even wider than the 996 c4s
