Shouldn't GT3 rears have a load rating of 98 ?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DH5j4PYp-o

Why would they be that old?
Because some of the cheaper online tyre providers seem to be able to supply such cheap tyres by going round buying up old unwanted stock and re-selling it. As such the age of te tyres can vary. It's not always factory fresh product. A fellow 996 GT3 owner received a pair of rear tyres from tyreleader that were manufactured 3 years apart. And with Cup tyres that can make quite a difference. They require special storage, particularly in winter, to ensure they never get below freezing point. DasChin said:
2012. All four of them. Seem to be from same batch.
Works for me.
My gt3 is sorn over winter n will go back on road in April. Does a few K miles per annum.
That's not great. You have an effective operating window of 2 years so unless you do a lot of miles, you'll need to change before they wear out. Works for me.

It wouldn't be too bad for the rear as they last about a year and a half on my 996T but the front last beyond 4 years so I'll insist on factory order brand new, normally via Costco.

Well I am hardly competing in f1 or gt3 cup now am I! If they show sign of cracking or blueing then they get junked.
At that price if I need to junk them then I will. The gt3 can chew through rears in 4-5k miles so it will be fine.
True, I do c, 10k a year so rears last just over a year. It's more the front I worry about. I had to junk mine with 5mm still on the front on my last pair which I feel wasteful even if the money doesn't concern me ...At that price if I need to junk them then I will. Thanks for the heads-up.
I have taken a gamble and bought 4 MPSS in 997 Turbo sizes (235/305) for £825 inc. fitted from Blackcircles.
My appointment is on Thursday morning, I will report back with info after that.
I'm not sure there is much of a gamble here, I had mine fitted back end of last year for a similar price. The garage I used were a little inexperienced with working on such a marque, but tyres are tyres right? They struggled to balance the rear wheels given the width, but weights were not required in the end in any case - I sorted this elsewhere for £10.I have taken a gamble and bought 4 MPSS in 997 Turbo sizes (235/305) for £825 inc. fitted from Blackcircles.

Anyway, great tyres for a great price and would buy from Blackcircles again.
