totally agree mate but as I have centre-lock wheels and ceramic brakes the lads from Jet garage will have their hands full biggrin

I have called ahead and they have the equipment to get the wheels off, I just hope they have the shim to get the wheel off smoothly.

Not exactly a great deal, I recently got a pair of 295/30/R18 for £190 each delivered from Tyreleader. Manufacture date Dec 2014.
so the cups were £133 each - total 266. you are saying 380 total is better? so that's a 1/3 cheaper?

we are talking GBP here not lira or euros ;-)

My God those cups are cheap - what are they like vs PS2s in real world driving?

Amazing in the dry, hairy in the damp and lethal in the wet smile

seconded to Jackwood there.

if your car is a summer/weekender like mine then cups are awesome. once they are warm they are just epic. amazing turn in, fell, grip etc.

my old e46 CSL came with PS2s on so I flogged them and put it onto Cups which it was meant to be on. transformed the car and it came alive again. but it was a summer car/weekender.

as an every day tyre the PS2 is hands down miles better.

the cups don't work at all when cold & wet. worst combo. avoid standing water. they are noisier than PS2s as well if you care about that and you will get less MPG (irrelevant in a GT3 or turbo but a fact)

they also pick up more stones and debris which is noticed in the CSL and GT3 as you have les sound deadening. can be a mare for the side skirts and rear bumper edge where it meets the rear tyre = sandblasting if not careful. don't follow a GT3 with wide (305 or 325) either. its like a hoover for stones and spits them straight out at you!!

the Cup2 is supposed to be a big step up and many of the super and hyper cars come with these now. even better dry grip, much better wet and last longer than cups.

fair play to Michelin and tyre tech has moved on a lot as the cup must be a 10-15 r old tyre design now?

Hope all goes well, on this basis they will indeed have their hands full. Keep us posted on how they get on.

OK so last minute problems, the garage have the right tool to remove a 100nm centrelock but they need the locking nut which I don't have to hand. I think next time I will make sure my locking nut is to hand and get a shim for the guys to use too.

Blackcircles were great at trying to find the right garage etc. but alas it was a step too far.

Long story short, as the car needs to be ready for a Wales run on Sat, I went full retard and my Turbo will now be in on Friday morning at OPC to have a set of MPS Cup 2 N0's fitted.
