Here's another one, little pricey at 96k with 500 miles on the clock!

Which is more unbelievable...paying £80K for a car which was circa £100K brand new, or paying (apparently), £180K the same car?

One born every minute!

Tax.

Although, even with 20% tax the EU Is even cheaper for 991 GT3's atm. A German OPC car is around £100k GBP with 20% tax inc.

Its just a bubble and like all bubbles.....

Hi Peter,
Enjoyed it very much last year, thank you. Zanvoort, Spa etc Vid shoot with Evo and so on. Still a wonderful machine. Wants for nothing.
It's been tucked up since October (something I've never done with any car before) and picked up a nice 997.2 GTS to smoke around in.
I'll be breaking the old one out for duties in a month or so.

It seems to me that most uk owners of gt3 cars are in it for the possible future gains rather than the enjoyment of the car it self.

There's going to be a few greedy people with sad faces when this bubble pops!

A lot of canadian sport cars for sale in the US at the moment taking advantage of the struggling CAD. That being said, this 991 is extremely cheap.

You've got this soooo wrong, most owners are excited about the amazing car that it is but are surprised by the demand considering all the engine problems hence the ongoing (now boring) topic. It couldn't have gone off to a worse start and that should have scared off any speculators who are in it for profits, some owners bailed because of it. Like any commodity which is low in supply and high in demand there will always be those who are in it to make a profit. I know of a dealers who specialises in buying new high profile cars and storing them until the price is right to sell. I also know someone who made a £10k profit on a Macan after driving it for 6 months due to an 18 months waiting list.

I for one like most owners on here won't be selling my car anytime soon and never see a car as an investment. The fact that you can now make a serious amount of money from it has potentially made a few owners think differently. History tells us the GT3 badge is a slow depreciator, the car is f-ing amazing and nothing will give owners more smiles for the same amount of money. There no greedy people, and definitely no sad faces!!

I take on board some of your comments, yes the car is an amazing product which is cleverly marketed by Porsche to drive up the 911 brand.

Out of interest Adam did you buy your car new or did you pay 50k to 70k over list?

10k profit out of a macan? We own a macan, have a had it for around 8 months. One of the first made, 70k list be gob smacked if we could sell it for 80k . Can't see us selling it because it makes an awesome family car and would be hard to replace.

I bought mine from new, was just about to take delivery before the stop sale followed by a frustrating 6 months wait for a new engine. There are a lot of owners on the forum, interestingly enough nobody has admitted to paying crazy over list prices. I for one think it's nuts, even if I was to make a huge profit where do i go for a similar car? I love to drive, this ticks all boxes for my requirement .... well unless someone offers me a £1m LOL

As for the Macan just have a look at the specs being sold and compare and their prices. Low specs over list! He was also surprised to make £10k as nobody wants to wait 18 months. The world has gone Porsche crazy. You'd at least make your money back and that's not bad after 8 months. Like the GT3, you won't sell as you're also happy with it

I was my local Swiss Porsche dealer today and looked at a late 2014 Gt3 , 3000km and 112kGBP. That's top price here and others are available brand new for less than 120 kGBP before any discount.

The UK price looks like a bubble, what will it correct to?? MSRP, 10 % per annum depreciation. Even bad looks good to me

I expect most of us live in houses that we know really aren't worth what we paid. That is fundamentally down to supply just like the GT3, there just not enough cars end of.

The only thing I see changing this is a Gen 2 in the next few months and this seems unlikely

When comparing the Euro/GBP price there has been a little bit of FX movement in the last 18 months. I guess we just ignore that do we smile
