Factory exit was 17/3 and it arrived at the dealer today apparently, so the OPC generally quotes 2 weeks...

She's arrived!!!

Picked porsche up Yesterday, although then had to drive through some filthy weather on the way home. Boy cornering is good though, even in the wet!

And front shot

For me she's a hauntingly beautiful car. I'll just have to restrain myself during the running in period, and get used to a boot in the front of the vehicle rather than the back biggrin

I wasn't certain but having seen a white one ( my original choice against agate ) and the demo I then saw in agate, the second won hands down for me. White was just a little too "show-boaty" for me!

Now that I have the car it was definitely the best colour, for me at least.

Happy driving!

looks very classy Phil. Excellent choice - look forward to seeing it. I sold the 996 turbo over a year ago & have been driving a 325d coupe. Finding it too 'soft'. I recently put down a deposit on a new CGTS but now having second thoughts & will probably get a 997 GTS (in white lol). It will be good catch up. Maybe have a GTS meet up when i get mine smile

Beautiful car, Phil. Agate goes really well with all the black. What did they tell you about running in? Mine's provisionally getting there Monday week and I want to be prepared for what I can and can't do!

I'm sure you'll love yours too Josh!

They didn't really highlight running in. When asked the question they said don't bother. The manual is a little vague, but basically don't use high engine speeds for the first 1800 miles, and try to do longer journeys.

I'll endeavour to keep the revs below 4000 rpm until 1000 miles and then increase in gentle steps until 2000 miles. After that, game on!

Are you using VTS? Activated mine yesterday. Clever bit of kit!

Planning a Euro tour around the Alps in July with the wife. Should be cool!

biggrin

Sounds reasonable. Do have VTS on the car and not used it before, but have a Cobra tracker on my current one so imagine it's similar (?)

Seems to involve a serious-sounding man ringing me up asking if the car's been nicked whenever I go on a ferry...

Picked my number plate today. It's real!

I ended up using Admiral multi car insurance.

VTS for Porsche is the same service as cobra, so similar "lozenge" system.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures!

I'm with Admiral too, though I don't quite understand their pricing algorithms. They wanted over two grand to change the car on my policy, but if I took out a new one I ended up with a refund of thirty quid. Profoundly insane, but I'll take it!

Exactly same colour as my GTS that I picked up on 2nd March and now run in with 1100 miles so enjoying now. Get lots of likes from people about Agate colour combo as bit more subtle than some colours. Used no oil at all yet which I guess is benefit of running in - car came with litre can of Mobil in trunk so guess some must use oil?Makes great noise and not even that thirsty 27mpg on motorway (probably even higher mpg at 70mph) . Sport plus is a bit brutal and can't see it getting used much day to day. Relaxed on motorway as 80 is about 2000 revs. Tyre roar is very loud on poor motorway surfaces but they are big tyres.
