I need to change my tyres and have had trouble finding any tyre shop to do it, since none of them have the correct Porsche tools. Yes, I can go to a OPC but they charge a lot more and then will only fit N rated tyres (I'm thinking of going to Michelin SS - as opposed to Cup tyres). So does anyone know how much these tools are, or anyone have one for sale? It might be useful to own one in any case. I didn't but the car new, so didn't have the option.

If you find yourself in the North West then ABP Motorsport, 10 minutes off Junction 16 of the M6, will look after you very well.
They have the centre lock tool and more importantly the knowledge and experience of the tool.
Ask for Chris, he can supply tyres competitively and fit them perfectly.

The car comes with the centre lock socket as part of the tool kit. You just need a suitable torque wrench.

I was surprised how easy the wheels are to remove.

Yes got the socket but I believe it has to be properly set to 500n on the torque wrench.

600nm (it says 500nm but its actually 600 nm that is now recommended by Porsche)

There are a few options around but ultimately it's just a 3/4 inch drive torque wrench that'll accommodate 600 plus Nm.

I initially bought a Teng but recently ordered a Stahwille.

I bought the Precision Instruments C4D600F36H combination torque wrench and breaker bar kit in from the States. Its fully collapsible so will fit in the front boot if required and goes well past the required 600NM torque setting. Comes complete with calibration certificate and is a cracking piece of kit. Think I paid $450 plus shipping.

More info on options here:

Once you've used it a few times its actually quite a simple process!

Thanks for all the advice, I reckon I'll order the Precision one from the US, now on ebay for $450 + taxes of course.
