Where did the 'Prospective Owners Discussion Vol 2' go? Totally disappeared and nobody seems to have said a word.

Anyway, a pretty good source of information for all so starting things off again...perhaps this time it will be owners?

Any meet-ups or tours coming up. Think there was chat of it for May?

No idea, I was wondering the same thing as being new to the GT3, the information was (mostly) very useful.

I had it open on my browser, did a refresh and it said it was no long available. They probably pulled because it never seemed to be about the cars any more!

It did get pretty embarrassing towards the end. Hopefully PH will clean out the dross and lock the rest.

Simply put. My 991 GT3 is the most amazing car that I have ever had the good fortune to own! Everything about it is way in excess of any possible criticism. I have now taken the key fob off as its squeaky sound was the only unwanted noise whilst driving. The performance is staggering matched only by the road holding. Still amazed by the build and paint quality . Apart from the horn which is a bit lame ! To the lucky Guys that secure an RS; can it really be that much better?

Well done for starting this thread - I've been saying we should do this for ages (but didn't start it for fear no-one would post anything!).

The next big meet/tour is in 3 weeks time woohoo

Well said. I drove both my 991 GT3 and my 16M today. The GT3 is mental in comparison (except for the exhaust note).
Can't wait for RS, mine is Dec build. Been told it is quite different to the GT3

What number are you on the list at your OPC for your RS build? I'm second but haven't been told yet. The whole winter build thing is pretty frustrating.

First world problems but I still have no idea what to do with my GT3 when my RS arrives. It's a regular road use car for me so I wonder if the GT3 is the keeper. Would love to keep both but not sure that will be possible.

I think I'm their last RS, would have preferred the car to come in late summer but hopefully Dec build means nice Christmas present. If you're number 2 I would have thought you'd get it in the summer?

I know it's probably too late now , what with the RS coming , but the exhaust note is just so sortable with the SW bypass - anyone who has / is keeping the GT3 , who thinks that the sound is a bit flat and isn't worried about track regs) should pop one of these babies on - it transforms the noise - also , with SE button off , it's is very civilised smile

I agree with this - Deffo 1st W P , but the GT3 is sooooo good that I can't stop driving mine and it has become my DD - every trip to work is an event - I love it . I can't quite imagine tipping up in the RS - 99 % of my colleagues will think it is just plain ridiculous and on most levels they are right smile . So what a lovely problem to have - how do I smuggle in the new one and keep the old - I guess the first thing is to get the RS in silver and then as long as never parked together , my wife will never know ; she will think that they are one and the same (as I do with her handbags and other girlie stuff that I don't understand) Only problem is that I'll need to build a new garage to hide one of the cars. As such, I have spent the last few weeks working with some of the worlds greatest mathematical minds to try and develop a new devious form of man maths to justify this craziness and I have to say , I'm struggling - which is odd as usually I'm brilliant at this sort of thing , I must be losing my touch !

So I guess what I'm trying to say is this : what an amazing car the GT3 is , that when offered an RS , all I can think about is how not to be parted with my favourite car of all time - anyone who missed out on an RS slot and is thinking of going GT3 instead should do it - bloody brilliant car.

Back to the garage thing - this is an amazing project - love the guys dedication to the cause - now where's that man maths manual - I need to try harder .....

I meant the 16M is just in another league, the exhaust note is amazing, not to say the GT3 isn't good, just not 16M good.

I've seen your other comments on the SW bypass, and I did email Chris. I'm just not convinced putting aftermarket exhausts on whilst the car is still so new (CGT has a Tubi which is VERY VERY loud). Any issues with your OPC or warranty do you think?

In truth I gave up worrying about the warranty thing as the lack of exhaust note really bothered me - to me its one of the things that makes driving fun and the only way to get the noise without the SW BP was driving at stupid speeds , which just ins't on , on public roads and as such the BP gave me this buzz at a "normal" speed. As such I just took the plunge and did it , kept the old one in the box and will put it back when I come to sell , if the new owner / OPC wants me to - so in truth , I have no idea what warranty issues , if any would arise - all I can say is all that you are doing is removing the central muffler so I can't see how this would negatively affect / cause an issue - it certainly feels absolutly fine to me - this is not to say that when the Front Lift goes wrong that Porsche would not blame this on the Bypass - LOL smile

Agreed on the Sharkwerks, I have had a number of issues with the engine fault lights coming on my car, more recently issues with the engine temperature gauge and parking brake fault. Initially when I took my car to my local OPC East London they cleared the faults and tried to blame it on my Sharkswerks (engine fault light only), next time I had more issues I had the car take to Reading who fixed all the issues and replaced all the parts fully aware I had a Sharkwerks fitted. They were upfront and honest and said from experience the bypass should not be an issue. However there was a small risk that if a fault was proved to be directly related to the fitting of the bypass it could invalidate the warranty. I've kept the original just incase but right now the joy i get on a daily basis from the Sharkwerks greatly outweighs the risk.

Interesting - I've had no issues what so ever since SW fitted .
