I saw you and the Volcano Orange RS @ OPC Reading last weekend.
The RS is just so aggressive- the extra width makes the 991 look more square and smaller as a result.
Perfectly proportioned. Lovely.

Yes I love the RS in person. Really menacing machine. Still think might be a bit too much for normal driving for me as mine is already quite extrovert... And I can't each anywhere close to its potential. But would get one if I could :-)
Reality is for me only other car I would change the GT3 for would be the speciale. And that is only to tick a box more than anything else..
Quick Q. to fellow owners. What tyre pressure you run from cold for road use ? I set them at 2.0 and 2.3 bars as per sticker in the driver door but the car not happy and says it's too low.. i guess I can reset it but was wondering what ppl use from cold (20c ish and not after the B road blast).
Strangely enough for track use I read on Rennlist the consensus seems to be on 2.0 (30psi) and 2.1 (31psi) HOT.. so considerable lower than recommended spec.

My car was setup at 1.9-2.0 Front and 2.2-2.3 Rear, depending on the outside temperature. Never had an issue with the car saying it was too low. Driven hard, the pressure would rise to 2.3F, 2.6R.Strangely enough for track use I read on Rennlist the consensus seems to be on 2.0 (30psi) and 2.1 (31psi) HOT.. so considerable lower than recommended spec.
Just had to do an oil top up and was wondering if it mimics other owners usage. Its taken 500ml to go from minimum to leave 1 notch to the full mark. Suspect I could have got about 600ml to go from minimum to max. New engine has done 3,750 miles including 2 laps of the ring and a good few hundred miles of autobahn driving. Otherwise not driven ridiculously hard.

Do not add any more oil, let it settle. I add 125ml at a time, the readings are very sensitive..Edited by Cblair246 on Sunday 23 August 13:29

Really I'm wondering if other owners are seeing the same oil usage?

Okay, mine has completed 3200 miles and I have put in around 600ml of oil.
Mine similar mileage but I did a (probably unnecessary) run-in oil change around the 1k mark. I think it had used 1-2 units of the computer oil measurement and since then another 2-3 in 2.5k miles. I try not to use it in town or short journeys though. It doesn't like it and not do I. It's really not meant to potter about, I imagine people using it daily don't do much urban commute as it's clearly not designed for that despite the pdk.
Also try to warm her up nicely and use some higher revs when appropriate. Keep reading that engine is meant to be used properly in order to avoid carbon deposits. I have it in south of France at the moment and on some secondary roads the sound of the engine echoing in valleys is simply mind blowing. Have a road trip back home planned with cop de vence, grimsel, furka and all of the Black Forest to look forward to. Mileage will take a hit but this is what I bought the car for.. :-)
Everyone knows the GT3 is an amazing car, no question. But most of that comes from great reviews and until now I've not had many of my own reference points. Over the weekend I had a Huracan on demo and although a great car, I couldn't believe how much more complete I found the driving experience in the GT3.
Here's the main points:
1. The gear shift - the quality of the PDK S and its software is miles ahead. The Huracan wouldn't always listen to what I wanted it to do and on full throttle, there is a fractional lag between the gears - it feels like the car is pulling back before it re-engages. To add to that, the paddles are attached to the steering column and when you shift up, it moves the down shifter. Basically the thing is not that well made and this whole piece is a bit flimsy. Add to this that the paddles are curved for your fingers and they feel pretty awful.
2. The engine - the GT3 sound is so much better - the Huracan is just noise and some popping. The way the GT3 sound changes through the Rev range helps you to drive it fast as you can tell where you are easily to shift up without looking at the revs, whereas on the Huracan I found myself hitting the limiter way too much. I gave the car a great test, going down to Machrihanish from Glasgow and by the end of the trip the popping was becoming wearing and feeling synthetic.
3. Interior - I speced my GT3 in carbon. Not an option on the H, where the cabin is pretty poor - very VAG and not something fitting a £200k car. Also tiny inside - could barely fit two overnight bags in the boot too.
Don't get me wrong, the Huracan is great but the GT3 is just better IMHO, and to think how cheap it is in comparison the only reason you would have the Huracan is because it's a Lamborghini.
Can't wait for my RS to arrive now!

Interesting - congrats on the RS , is this new news - what colour are you going for ? Here's the main points:

Funnily enough , I test drove an F Type today as my wife was thinking about one instead of her 991 C2S , which since I drove the 991 GT3 , I'm jokingly very rude about - I guess everything's relative. I have to say 5 mins in the F Type reminded me how great the C2S is , you just forget I guess - I apologised to my wife , said the C2S is lovely and said I thought that the F Type , although beautiful , is a crap drive in comparison : sometimes you have to try something else to re gain perspective

Yup, it's good to try something to realise how good you've got it! Just surprised to walk away from a Huracan more impressed with the GT3!RS isn't news, no. My build completion date is 10 days away so very excited! Going LO and re: my comments on the RS thread, delighted about that!
