How many other owners are brave enough to run no front plate then? I've been surprised how long i've got away with it now!

I know this will piss some people off to be chatting about values but it's still relevant to ownership IMO.

Why is it there is a spread from £157k up to over £180k? I thought they were actually selling at over £180k so why are people listing so low?
JZM have been selling under £180k and tend to be the most expensive. The £157k is priced to sell.
I also note that supposedly 25% of the UK's 991 GT3 stock's for sale ?
PH's 24, 991 GT3's & OPC's 10. That's 34 against a total of about 8 PH & 1 OPC car for sale two/three weeks ago.
What's going on ?

Mine is photoshopped out. I have a front plate.

Market forces (991RS,GT4, LHD, finite demand), simple. Irrational exuberance moderating.

I haven't had a plate from day 1, haven't got any nasty drill holes either

Not quite that many as some of the PH and OPC cars are the same ones, so I reckon about 25 cars which is more than 10% of the UK total. It will soon be harder to get a 991 Turbo S on the used market.

A few months ago there were 1 or 2 cars available and they sold in days. Haven't seen a car come off the OPC site for a couple of weeks. A lot of the pistonheads ones are now "POA".

Still, prices will be powering away over the summer once the demand kicks back in. Probably.

997.2 RS is a way better car for £150k in my view.

Does look 'cleaner' without the plate.

Handy for blasting through those nasty forward facing speed scameras too......hehe

Not sure about better, but different certainly and in nice way for the aficionados. The 991RS is likely to affect the 7.2RS - but not sure in which direction.

Bear in mind a lot of OPC stock is because owners are moving to the RS.

Out of interest, what are you going to say if/when you are stopped by plod?

I will just say it fell off and hope they are reasonable, especially if i have the plate sitting on the dash.

Otherwise, it is a £30 fine; not the end of the world.

I think some owners might be in a position similar to mine. Love the car but when I see that PTS up for sale at 180k in a lesser spec than mine I would be sorely tempted by a 170k offer.

Would a 140k offer work? No.

So I guess it's a level of equilibrium that needs to be reached. And with very few RSs hitting the market I don't foresee a flooded market.

I honestly don't think you will get a £170k offer (but there's always a possibility that your PTS car might be different). I really don't believe anyone has paid a dealer more than £170k for a really top spec club sport car and what you'd actually be offered is obviously less than that. Might be different if you put it on SOR but with so many out there right now there's a choice. Try getting a trade bid out of any of these dealers that are sitting on 2 or 3 cars and it wouldn't be anywhere near £170k. All I my opinion, of course.

All this doom mongering is quite frankly laughable. Anyone would think the way some are talking we were back just post the financial crisis.

Fact is there are c10 for sale at OPCs as opposed to around 5 up until a few months ago...this was entirely expected for the reasons already covered .......hardly flooding the market stuff and certainly no more being offered than 991 Turbo S which incidently appear to be holding their value relatively well.......despite the 'over' supply....hehe

I assume all PH 991-GT3 threads are going to gravitate down to appreciate/depreciate topic.
Shame really, me I just go out and drive mine and all thoughts of selling other than under duress are gone!
So we sell for say £155-160k for Clubsport PTS............what next?
Thats where the problem lies.

Meanwhile I seem to spend more time on RL, very little discussion on values there. Much more of an interesting read at times
