Shame really, me I just go out and drive mine and all thoughts of selling other than under duress are gone!
So we sell for say £155-160k for Clubsport PTS............what next?
Thats where the problem lies.

Meanwhile I seem to spend more time on RL, very little discussion on values there. Much more of an interesting read at times

AWESOME picture :-)

Was thinking to take mine for a drive this morning. Starting west London. But the choice of nice roads without having to take up the whole day is definitely limited. Seems valley of horses pretty much only place to go.. Maybe around Gaydon with a bit more time.. :-(

I need a Sunday morning teletransporter to Wales or Scotland.

(Reposted this as the prospective GT3 owner thread seems to be getting no eyeballs/response)

Hi all,

I wanted to ask other owners a favour.

I've just got my car back after having the brakes checked out. I may be imagining it but the brakes seems more spongy now with more travel before they bite.

Please can someone check and tell me if they pump the brake pedal BEFORE the engine is switched on if there is an air-like sound? I can pump the brake maybe 5 times before the air sound stops and the pedal goes firm.

Also, does anyone know if the exhaust system would have been interfered with during a brake bleed? The PSE sounds a lot quieter now.

Of course this could all be paranoia!

Just checked and no air-like sound when pumping brake before engine is on.

Same as DonGT3; no air like sound. Also, I truly doubt that the PSE has been touched during a brake bleed. Mine seems to not always operate when I expect it too. Press the PSE button on & off from cold start; you should be able to easily tell if the vacuum is opening the exhaust throttle butterfly. There were a lot of posts in the now defunct prospective 991 GT3 topic about the PSE working or not. It seems to have a mind of its own!
Macca did post a good article on the subject. It's not just the engine speed that operates the PSE. There are many other variables & management components that contribute to the operating environment that engages the vacuum that operates the PSE.

Finally got round to disconnecting the valves on the exhaust. It was really easy to do. I just squeezed my fat head and arm under the rear of the car (no need to jack up) and the tubes slid out easily with thumb and forefinger. Does make a real difference at low revs, but like someone else on here said, I think the drone/noise could be hard to live with. Not sure if I just have a sore head today or whether it was the short run I just did.

Dear LindsayMac and rosino,

What PTS blue are your cars please? I am hoping to spec either Mexico or Riviera on my GT3 RS and was wondering if either of yours is one of these? Difficult to tell with the photos.

Thanks in advancesmile

This colour would be perfect for an RS!

Excellent, thanks. I'll throw that into the mix. As long as I can get one of those blues I will be happy. Still waiting news on PTS for the RS.

Don
Did you put some form of plug over the valve & plug the pipe you removed.
If so what did you use ? I'm about to go & have a pull...........eek

Another 700 miles added to my car over the last few days, including just over 300 miles today - no need to stop for a rest (or petrol), the bucket seats are so supportive and comfortable!

Fran, I have not plugged yet as I only went on a short run in the dry. I was going to put some duct tape over it.
I would like to know what other have done. The guy in the states that posted the video put a small screw in.
The golf tee idea may also work. Let me know what you think when you have done it.

A small screw is best in the vacuum pipe to seal it.

More challenging is to plug the metal pipe on the valve. Simply fit a short length of hose to the pipe, again with a small screw to seal it. Just ensure that the hose is HEAT RESISTANT, otherwise you will get melted rubber in the valve...not ideal.

Some have mentioned they find the resultant increased exhaust noise too droning and intrusive......personally mine is great and I find it less intrusive than the Cayman S loaner with sports exhaust. But for those finding it too intrusive, perhaps try disconnecting one side only.

Thanks AV, that sounds like a good way of plugging it up. I had not thought about the heat on the metal pipe from the valve. I think I am pretty happy with mine also. I think you could quite easily connect and disconnect depending on the trip as this is so quick and easy to do. Say If you were doing a long trip and wanted less noise it would only take a minute to reconnect both sides.
