997.2 Carrera 2, brakes squeal, but only in reverse.

As per title. They're absolutely fine in normal driving and spirited driving, but as soon as I gently apply them in reverse they set my teeth on edge.

Are they all like this? A simple fix? Just a grease of some sort on the back of the pads?

..Have the pads out and check you haven't got a stone or some gravel stuck some where in the caliper or the packing plate, you can check the anti squeal shims at the same time.., if it still squeals when you rotate a wheel backwards without the pads in it's not the brakes..!
