What's up with this exhaust?
Discussion
I'm quite interested in the car below, but the exhaust seems to be protruding a long way fron the body. There's no mention of an aftermarket system and the dealer is a Porsche specialist so you'd imagine they know what they're selling. Any ideas? I realise I could call them and ask, but I thought the knowledgable people on here might be able to shed some light.

I bought my car a few weeks ago, and mine stick out a bit too much for my liking too:

I think there are two types of tips available as some look shorter on the side profile.
Take a look at the underside from the floor - mine seem to have a couple of CMs of adjustment by means of a groove, but I cant tell if its welded in place or if its a weird nut.
I might get by indy to take a look on the next service

Cheers for that. Yours seem to be much the same as the car I linked to. I've been looking at loads of 996s recently and have never seen tips that extend this far before.http://postimg.org/image/u2twledmx/

The long tips make it look like a wheelbarrow.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
I don't usually post, rather I loiter! Anyway, I saw this car last night. I'm not a 996 aficionado, but know the early cars quite well (late 60s/early 70s) as I have a '72 911. It's an honest car, but not the one for me. If you wish to PM me I could share my thoughts on it. I'm looking for a 996 too!

That's very kind. I'm 'mobile' right now so I can't PM you, but if it's ok with you I'll drop a line tomorrow.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
