Will these need running in? If so I guess it's pointless going to collect it if the drive back is restricted? Does anyone know?
I have gone for factory collection but don't fancy driving back like a granny on the way back from Waitrose.

Thanks

I'd have said the opposite - you get the benefit of the factory tour etc, get to drive your car home by which time it will be run in and ready to play!!

TT - I collected my Gen 2 97 RS from the factory and had a great time. Very much enjoyed the factory tour, museum, lunch at the factory etc. Drove car to Spa, did a track day the following day, short shifting everywhere. It was pouring with rain so was quite a nervy experience!! Drove home the day after, half way home got past the 1,000 mile mark then started getting further up the rev range, then straight in to the OPC for licencing and fluids check etc.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Understand that the company that organised it - flights, hotels, transfers and Eurotunnel - when I did it went under and it is now organised by someone else. Presume quality the same???

Spoke to a dealer at the weekend, he reckons that the GT3 RS will need to go straight to a dealer to get the tracker fitted as it is not fitted at the factory? Although paid for in the total price of the RS, so included in the spec.
I will also have to get the rear fog light re-wired by the dealer at the same time to get it past UK approval.

Does that mean you've ordered through a non-UK dealer? Or do they deliberately wire it differently for EU use on the journey back?

I have done this often and am picking up a 991RS on Sep 2.

(1) You need to run it in - same as any new car

I usually take a three week stint, drive day and night for a few days and run it in for ( say 3000Km). I have a series of places to visit. Then I track itsmile

Last one in 2010

When I bought my new Jag XF back in 09 the handbook specifically stated to run it in for 1000 miles and do not use on the Track until 5000 miles
