What's are average examples (i.e. 30-50k miles, not garage queens) actually trading hands for now?

Based on recent sales I'd say 80 - 100k

Club Sports and mk2s are at a premium as ever.

Yep, £80-100k is about right.
Are you looking to buy one?

A Mk1 one went for 80k at Silverstone auctions last month. Supposedly one or two sold quickly at HWM recently for the 90k mark, but that wasn't thought to be a reliable account.

Mine (late '02, 49k, full main dealer history, same owner 8 years, nice colour/options) was in for a service last week and I asked for a valuation, trade offer was 90k, retail supposedly 110-120k

As regards changing hands it's hard to know apart from Silverstone since none seem to be for sale any more.

It'll be interesting to see if the odd sale that comes up is listed with a price rather than "POA" else all we get is rumour.

There are none for sale and owners are keeping them as they are a great drive, look awesome and are rising at such a rate they are scared of selling up and losing thousands over the space of a few months.

In answer to your question however a minimum of £100k now I would imagine, with the last one sold at Auction for £86k and wasn't a "perfect" spec in terms of having comfort seats, no cage etc.. A good dealer could have got more than that I would have thought.

If your'e looking for one then good luck, whilst £100k sounds like a lot for a 10 plus year old car - compared with other models (964T, 993TT, 964 3.6T) that are fetching strong money the GT2 would still be a comparative bargain at £150k. I expect 997 GT2 prices to continue to rise too as they are bloody superb, no doubt....

This time 18 months ago people couldn't sell them for £45-50k.

My pal bought a silver car with buckets from Paragon for less than £50k not that long ago, he does say it is better than the 360CS he had.

That black one for sale,
It's missing the well known green "attention" label in the back.

From Dk's website :

"By running high-flow turbo's at 2 bar and upping compression to 9.4:1, output rose from 420 to ??????"

to what ? near 750hp I'd wager.......

Yep, it's a fact. Personally I thought it overvalued to the tune of £15-20k, but the market is speaking, it's finally woken up to the 996 GT2, just as it did with the 996 GT3 RS.
The last GT2 I bought in 2010 cost me the princely sum of £36k.........

A bit like the various 964 RS's, 993 RS and 996 GT3's I've owned, I'm glad to have owned and driven them (properly, not polished them) when they were still "cheap" cars. Great cars, great memories.

It was sold by 911v and hit a tree 60 miles later, I know the person who bought it.
