Y E S ! Heard a chap on another forum who missed out initially got a call from his OPC this month saying they could now get him one to his own specification.
God knows what the total production numbers are but one thing is for sure, they are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than what everyone thought. It seems Porsche filled their pockets with the speculators and this is what is causing the supply on the 2nd hand market.
Are you sure? "Hearing" a "chap" on "another forum" is very different from it being fact.God knows what the total production numbers are but one thing is for sure, they are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than what everyone thought. always has been for GT3
a few come up for sale Jan onwards and you can always buy till about May, then it's normally none for sale in the summer, then a few start to come up end Sept, hence a lot have 7 or 8 owners,
GT3 is VERY seasonal I have been following these for about 10 years. 996 have calmed down sale wise as more and more find long term owners, and this year people are cashing in on the big prices esp 997 owners, 997.2 cars have always been rare to buy at any point but very few for sale now and imo the car to have out of them all looking at prices and age.
+1 - if you talk to most Porsche Indy's, they'll tell you this has traditionally been the case.a few come up for sale Jan onwards and you can always buy till about May, then it's normally none for sale in the summer, then a few start to come up end Sept, hence a lot have 7 or 8 owners,

Affirmative!
Correction is certainly coming on GT3 values across the board, but we are not talking about a crash here, and it will be model dependent. As another person has pointed out - manual gearbox/metzger/hydraulic steer/limited number on the 6's & 7's argues in favour of them remaining relatively solid imho. 991 GT3 has no such protection and current hyped/exaggerated values will certainly tumble, albeit perhaps not below list for a while yet.

Agreed! The 991 GT3 will never go below list price i reckon and the 997 GT3 will always be coveted due to the manual gearbox and Mezger engine. GT4RS said:
The truth of the matter is no matter if its a 996 997 or 991 gt3 they will all be taking a bath pretty soon!
I think the only 'truth' here is the fact you want a GT3 so badly your balls ache and every single post of yours supports that fact. Talk them down all you want but please just, for once, say "I WANT the prices to fall as I would like to buy one and I am not willing to pay the current prices being asked for one so I will talk them down and hope I manage to influence the price"isaldiri said:
Good, if only to stop the agonizing and hand wringing from people wanting to buy and thinking they are overpriced and owners from obsessing about values and just getting back to driving the damn things.
Here here! Just grab the keys, take them out and spank them, they love it!
Everyone who likes 911's should have the opportunity to own one, even mr GT4RS
They are not for everyone (ask mrdemon) but to some they are everything!

This is coming from the man selling a 997 gt3,
Of cause the they will be coveted due to the manual gearbox and mezger engine, more like your bailing just before the price correction!

Thought about getting an R8 V10 but I drove one and didn't like it.

I don't really care if they go down, I paid less than 60k for my mint 997 so I'm hardly about to take a fking bath as you put it.
In the mean time you keep telling everyone that they will be cheap enough for you to buy one soon, I'm off to the Alps in mine.
Peace all
