Same as you Mate! My RS is specced and locked in for November build! Molly and I are off to Silverstone on Monday to drive one. The oh so obliging Porsche people are laying on a RS and a GT3 so that we can run them back to back for a direct comparison. I have paid the extra so it means that we will be on the circuit at the same time. tongue out
My chance to show him how its done (again) biggrin

Ah ha , that's brilliant , good for you .

You've done really well to get one as I knew you have limited history with Porsche - you must be a charming guy smile

I did the PEC a couple of weeks ago - if you loved the 3 then you will be smitten with the RS , it's just like the 3 , but it's more , well , more !!

Enjoy !

(PS What colour have you ordered - mines LO)

P.P.S - sorry to hijack thread - but only a little as it makes a change from all the value talk smile

Lava Orange for me with an abundance of orange zest. Many happy hours spent on the configurator. Even added black lights as they provided a nice contrast. I never realised how much a prospective car purchase could dominate my life so much. Simply cannot wait! Bit random I know , my GT3 was sold with 6000 miles on it. Seemed to be getting faster, maybe it was my confidence.

No one wanted my little used F.O.C Guards Red Chipex Kit!

How is it that a good few who have owned more than a couple of cars can't get one then...funny game allocations...

It's a grower , like it more and more every time I see it - After a lot of fiscal angst , I went for the black LED's - crazy money , but they do look top drawer ! smile

hah I honestly wasn't having a strop at missing out, a bit gummed I admit as it would have been interesting to try out the new gen of cars but no biggie and good for those who did get one. Don't have a problem with serial buyers being favoured by the dealerships but it seems odd that for a few cases I know of, the long time new car buyers (which I certainly am not!) haven't got one but some others without history have. Dark art as you say....

To all you guys getting an RS I am uber envious!! I was at PEC on Monday and got to have a quick blast in their Lava Orange car - quite simply that thing is breathtaking. Have driven a 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 - oddly still not the std 991 GT3 but I was just in awe. Truly an epic piece of kit.

No sour grapes here either, but needed a double take when I read Mr and Mrs secured one. A darker art than watching Donny Darko in the dark. Staggering when I know of those who have been bumped off for no apparent reason. Good luck to him, new OPC obviously works.

Thank you for the 'good luck' after your double take. We don't want to upset anyone and we really can't believe our good fortune at having been allocated an RS.

You probably know already that the chance of a GT3 allocation was purely down to a fantastic stroke of luck that Rob walked into a brand new dealership as an Aston Martin owner who was new to Porsche but well informed. In dealership terms that made it a conquest sale against another brand so maybe some points scored for them.

Since then we have had nothing but enthusiasm for the brand, the dealership, the cars but most of all for our GT3.

How come we then went on to get a GT3RS allocation? None of us will ever know for sure but what Porsche get back from us is a package of '2 for 1' enthusiasts and the promise that we will not lock this very special car away to be treated as an investment but we will use it and promote it proudly whenever and wherever possible. We are not mega-rich collectors who will ask for it to be delivered to a warehouse full of supercars. We are just a pair of lucky b*stards who can't believe our good fortune!

It must be nice to be cool & understated & able to keep quiet about what one has in the garage but anyone who ever met my husband will know that is just not possible for us!

Its going to be great to be back at PEC Silverstone and finally get to drive this thing - god knows I've watched enough clips of other people driving it (Rob - can we watch something else now?)!

Good luck to you both. The allocation system is a strange one to say the least. I think everything comes in to play, even being liked on a personal level.

I got bumped off from one OPC for a GT3 and then I put myself on a hopeful cancellation list at another OPC. I was 5th on that, so I wrote my chances off at getting one. Then a month later the phone rang, they said if I want one I have 1 hour to place 10k down to secure. I was really lucky but it was a strange scenario.

Enjoy anyway...

From my very basic calculation and measure of constantly watching the classifieds, it would appear that the price descent has pretty much stalled, and it's still way above list
Although in saying that, there's quite a few cars in the classifieds that have been there for some months
What's people's thoughts ?

I would agreee that high spec cars have dropped down to around £130k. Not sure they are actually selling mind as there still seems to be plenty of the same cars advertised.
