Actually - and a bit o/t - having seen the video of the chap in a GT3 sporting with an Aventador on another thread I think money is the least of my problems when considering a 991 GT3. I think I might need to grow a new pair of balls too! Perhaps my track days are over #middleage
So forgive me if I continue to live my life vicariously through slippydiff, RSVP etc

Did I give the impression I was going to buy one !

Not for me, I have the Gt4 coming which suits me better and a loi for the GT4 RS if that happens.
It was your last sentence that made me think that ;

"Hence as above it,s a falling knife ATM I would NOT be buying till Feb 2016 when prices should level at a real selling value."

But re reading it I see you were talking in a general sense - apologies . Enjoy the GT4 - lovely looking car - looks fab in Yellow - I also have my name down for the RS should it happen smile

JZM are reporting on facebook that they've sold a Mexico blue 991 GT3 today. It was priced at just under £175k and they've had it less than two weeks so I expect it went for very close to asking price.

No-one has suggested a price crash, but a softening in prices with the ample supply.

Announcement of 991.2 GT3 would have a dramatic effect, the target market size is finite.

I don't think that anybody would wish owners to get burnt.

But since Porsche seem to know what to do with investment --- Product Development > Performance and tactile driver passion --- I would love to see Porsche rather than the intermediaries capitalise on this ---

QED, more of what we all want from Porsche smile

Its unfortunate that the car market is unregulated. With boom in prices, market manipulation is sadly rife in this industry.

Example, I met a reputable dealer not long ago who offered to sell my car on SOR. Market wasn't as strong as he stated, and the car sat in showroom for a few months.

Ended up taking the car back, and he posted it as sold on his website.

PH rules prevent me from naming and shaming.

That behaviour isn't unusual or right but others do much worse . This stuff gets around under the radar very effectively

I have not dealt with JZM personally, but know a number of people who have and confirm they are of the highest integrity. So sold probably means sold.

Exactly. Look I know of even prestigious main dealers who manipulate the market, names you would not believe in a million years! Its rife. On top of that we have a couple of very well known individuals on PH who were very prominent on ramping up prices and telling people they had offers on their cars and reporting other sales which were just simply ** incredulous **. There is a lot of money at stake, and when there is money at stake .... well, lets just say certain people have no scruples. Integrity ... no such thing.

As I said, THE TEST is to ask how much the dealer will buy your car from you. PH sales data is just nonsense. And Sold ... definitely, definitely does not always mean Sold!

What's really wrong is a manufacturer that sells a car for £115k allows its network to resell a car for 50% more, if this was stopped a realistic market would be held.

Or, a real solution would be to just fulfil demand for your product. Let everyone that wants an RS buy one, ditto GT4. Problem solved.

Not sure how that would make any difference . All the cars would just go to independents ?

A particular independent did a lot to fuel this particular bubble with 991,s by buying 6 or 7 of the 1st cars that came available ( they bought mine from my OPC for a reasonable mid £130's) , starving the market and then advertising them for £160 - £170k .

Personally I have no issue with this , the independent spotted a potential gap , took a risk and invested quite heavily . That's business . What I don't agree with is that the OPCs drove this . Once the price trend is set they have to follow or they couldn't buy any cars ......

The sale of one PTS club sport car doesn't really change the general situation though. That's the same car that was at OPC Bournemouth for weeks unsold, so who knows what JZM sold it for, maybe the owner decided enough was enough and took a decent offer?

They are selling, and they are fabulous machines.
I have sold mine, for a fair price, as something else came up that I'd been looking for, for eons and suits the roads around here more IMO.
Otherwise I would have kept it.

As Mexico blue is a PTS colour, it cost more than a standard car to begin with and 991 GT3's will be relatively rare in this colour so if someone wants one in Mexico blue they will be paying a premium.

Bit like Porsche Green on the 997.1 GT3 RS.

That doesn't mean all cars are worth as much.

:yes;

The 991 GT3 pricing shenaginans often cloud the discussions on this immense car. It has been an abnormal market, open to manipulation and that leaves a sour taste.
