Secondly and more importantly, it's an absolute hoot to drive. Yes it's different and perhaps less engaging than previous generations but when you're on it, the feeling of "I wish this was more like a 997 with manual gearbox and hydraulic steering and the old Mezger engine" never crosses your mind. You don't have time to think about it either - it is just so fast and yet massively rewarding in the true spirit of a GT3 - just a modern day version.

The fact that it can be driven in auto to the shops like an E92 M3 is an added bonus, which just proves its breadth of abilities. I went for comfort spec with leather dash, lol. Why? I didn't want to spend £150k on a track only car - I wanted to enjoy it more on the road as well as track. I wanted it to feel special when you sit in it and look around - hence the need for a quality dashboard. The standard dash looks awful on a car of such value. I completely understand that if you just wanted it for trackdays and setting the absolute fastest lap times and not to really use on the road much then this wouldn't be important, however I would urge anyone speccing a new RS to tick this option, as it would look out of place on a car worth over £200k - which will be the real value.

How many track days do you plan to do per annum?
10 a year - so not loads. But it would be a weekend toy and lucky enough to have others cars with all the bells and whistles.
Does that mean you wouldn't use the car much apart from track days?

If anyone can't wait and is looking to buy a 991 GT3, then this dealer car I think is best value car on market. Its been reduced by 20k now over the last few weeks.

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Very high spec car, Clubsport, with PCCB, Lift, Dynamic lights, 1 owner, low miles etc.

This is approx. 20k over list. It also shows where the market really is, and means trade bids are now AT BEST 10k over list.

However, with 50+ cars still to sell, these are clearly still heading lower and will be trading at or below list by end of summer, IMHO.

Goes to show how much the market is starting to change if they have had to drop it by 20k in a matter of weeks.

I must say it is a lovely spec car but it wouldn't be my preferred choice of paint colour. If a high spec car is currently advertised at high 130k where does this leave the lower spec cars?

I guess only time will tell, it's such a shame that a lot of these cars appear to be unused due to there very low milage.

If it wasnt for a certain someone talking about prices, would people be that interested in the 'market'?

Considering this thread is on its 12th page I would say there's more than one person interested in which way the market is heading!

Offer a car to JZM to buy outright - what they bid you reflects the market.

So why do I think 991 GT3s are worth the current market value? Porsche have moved the game on a league or 2 which they needed to do to keep pace with Ferrari...
Moved the game on you say...? scratchchin

was good value at list ;-) any one who things good value now is not right in the head lol

A R10 V10 at £65k is what I deem to be good value 2nd hand. not a £150k GT3.

I certainly am, looking for a way in, but not at current prices.

I did mean at list, the premium is transitory, and yes good call on the R8 V10 - even better value than any almost GT3

What does the R8 do better than the GT3 though? The R8 is also fundamentally a very old car.

Anyone would agree the GT3, even at £180k, is good value in a direct comparison against a Speciale. If however you can't afford a £180k car, then of course it's harder to rationalise.
