Rsvp911 these cars are not selling for 145 to 165k?

Porsche knows what it's doing, the cars were prices correctly in the first place. If these cars had a list of 145 to 165 k they would not of sold anywhere close to the numbers on the road today.

The Agate grey JZM car very recently sold relatively quickly presumably near to the £149k asking price.
Come on did it really sell? The owner has dropped this car by a massive amount of cash over a short period of time. I dould hedge my bets that the car was pulled for sale.

Be nice if the new owner pops up here...

Why the hell would he? All YOU would do is call HIM silly for spending HIS money on the car HE wants at the price HE is willing to pay!

He would have nothing at all to gain from posting in this thread.

All very strange as I attempted to order a new car from 2 of my local OPC without success last year (991 GT3), spoke very recently about RS numbers and again effectively the number allocated equalled 3, they sold 3 x 918s.........

Its not unreasonable to presume 991GT3s have sold at various levels down from the peak of 170k, as some owners will have simply accepted the depreciation curve. It is also a well known fact that some dealers will just post SOLD when in reality the car was never was sold, or sold anywhere near the asking price.

However, the fact that there remains still 50 or so cars means supply exceeds demand, and appetite to buy at these lofty overs is still not there.

TODAY, low spec cars should be 130k, and higher spec 140k. Couple of weeks from now, will be lower still.

The low mileage Racing Yellow Clubsport 'George Mackay' car, very high spec with lift + PCCB prob listed new near 125k. However, after a price cut to 139k a deposit has finally been taken. That is in my opinion a true indication of where we are now ... 130-140k.

I was merely saying it would be nice for him to pop up and say he bought the car, in my opinion that would add a small level of confidence back into this market place as there are cars both 997 and 991 which have sat unsold for the best part of this year!

We all know the games certain dealers play when advertising these cars.

If I remember correctly u were also unable to sell your 997 gt3 this year.

I had an offer within £3k of what I wanted but I decided not to sell it in the end as there was (is) nothing out there for around the same price that appeals to me.

One day I may sell it and get a 991 GT3 but I cant afford one yet ....... yet! wink

Just to clear up a misunderstanding.... Porsche Solihull have two of my cars there at the moment... both paid for ... including the GT3 991. Having a big garage built at home and cannot house all my cars.... :-(

OT but you make a good point about the pops and crackles. I had a RS3 (the new one) for a couple of hours this week and the noise was hilarious to start with, but I grew tired of it by the end of the test drive and switched to stealth (ier) mode. Feels too contrived - we all like a pop and a bang every so often but not all the time. And plain embarrassing on start up in my local town car park. Or maybe I am just getting old! frown

Edited to add, here are my thoughts on the RS3,if anyone is interested (probably not)

Not only are pops and crackles a source of childish glee (and I adore every car I drive that makes those noises), but they're also good for meeting emissions apparently. Overlapping combustion and exhaust burns off a lot of NOx before they get to the catalytic converter.

It will be quicker, but not sure that will convince many to swap.

I can drive a bit, don't get me wrong, I'm no Steve Rance, but I can pedal ok, and I don't think I've ever really thought to myself when driving the GT3 that. "I wish this was a bit faster".

Now I know there are plenty of cars that are faster, but seeing as how I don't use it for track days I've no idea where I would benefit from more speed, the cars a lot more talented than I am alreadysmile
